I need to buy some more stuff to store my yeast samples in, however, the supplier likes to sell in lots of 1000, so I thought others may be interested.
30ml screw cap tubes/vials.
Ideal size for making slants, splitting packs of yeast yeast or storing yeast samples, they're virtually the same as what commercial suppliers (Brewlab) use.
Most likely 28ml flat bottom vials, or if they are cheaper 30ml v bottom ones.
Price should be about $16/100.
1.5ml Microfuge tube with cap.
No screw-top (I can't find any reasonably priced that do, $30/1000 compared to $500/1000), but they are a great size for small yeast samples, especially if you need to mail/transport/share them. The manufacturer says the caps should be water-tight and they should be OK for liquid samples. They look like this.
Price should be about $3/100.
Both are made from Polypropylene so can be heat sterilized.
If you are not in Melbourne and/or cannot pickup, add $6 for a 500g post pack (single orders should fit easily).
If you are able to pickup (and reply quickly) I can pickup some glass petri dishes:
Petri dish soda economy 100mm diam: $2.20ea.
***Important Conditions***
I'm NOT going to mail glass, sorry but if you cannot pickup, I can't buy petri dishes for you.
At $3/100 the microfuge tubes are not worth posting @ $6, get some if you can pickup, or add them to an order for the larger tubes.
If including postage I'd suggest that order lots less than 100 is not cost-effective, but order in batches of 50 if you wish.
None of the above items are in stock at the supplier, and I need to pre-pay before they order them.
I intend to place an order for 1000 of each of the tubes, and enough petri dishes for myself within the next few days.
IF there is enough interest BEFORE I place the order, I will order more.
Otherwise there will only be a total of 1000 of each of the tubes on offer - and the offer will remain open until they are all accounted for.
