Do we need a separate section for the SS or nickel taps for the Winequip barrels ?

Easier to read at order time maybe ?

I'll have a SS version when we've decided.

I know it's only $22 to ship a smaller 30 litre vessel to Newie, so this should be close enough for the larger unit.

Enough height in my fridge for 2 of these, but weight could be a factor. Scale up my production later, I think. Start with one

FWIW, the Auto-Siphon is also about 550 mm, so no probs with the 50 litre oil drum.

Was also considering the alternative of 3 of the Aliexpress fermentors. but I figure the oil drums are a better build, etc

Thanks Lez for getting me back in :)

You're welcome Jez. Just one of the benefits of a sober Les on a week night.
If it wasn't me, one of our other fine comrades would have fixed it up. Not a bad team to be part of. Go Team SS FV!

Would be good to hear if Bridges is OK with being added.

Just waiting on another photo of the inside of the AliExpress fermenting pots. Got one that looked very nice.

just by the by.. if peeps could have a look into shipping? I did a rough calc on the aus post website >HERE< on a random postcode... if there is enough people we could look at a courier service?

effed if I know but happy to play the game.

:icon_cheers:
try e-go.com.au for couriers, extremely well priced compared to Aus Post and better service during my previous experiences (used hundreds of times).

Could someone on a PC please add a SS tap to my 30L order ?

It'll take me to the end of the day if I try on this stupid phone...

Please and thankyou.

Hi Guys
whats the opinion on the head space.
if i only really brew 21 liters at a time will the 30 liter be best or for an extra 20 should i go the 50 liter ?
seems strange to have almost 30lt head space

cheers

G'day tateg,

I think it depends if you feel the need to increase production at a later date.
I know that it requires some future thought, but if you are likely to ever increase your batch size to over, say, 25 litres, you can save money by getting the larger vessel now.
Alternatively, if you plan to only make 21 litres or multiples thereof, you could buy 2 30 litre FVs now or 1 now and another later. Up to you now...

might just stick to the 30 litre for now

I've never had problems fermenting a 20L cube (~23L brimming) in 30L plastic fermenters.

It got within an inch or two with a couple of lively weizens...but never over.

I have had 2 blow outs from 20L ferments in a 30L barrel.
Both were from the same yeast in a hefe. Wyeast 3068. Made a decent mess.

So there is not final pricing on these as yet, we are just looking at who would be interested if the price is right?

If so I would like 2x30lt with the SS tap, depends on price and shipping. I'm also looking at another supplier as well, so final combined price will what I'll be interested in.

Batz
