Just checked: Chateau = Castle.
$39 per bag?! Wow. Manticle might move back to Melbourne if he sees this!
(I wonder if that is the definite price list or if it's their cost & a little margin might be added for a bulk buy...)
I don't really need bulk malt right now, but at those prices I'll be grabbing a few sacks.
Because, well, it's Belgian.
And cheap.
Yep it's their all day everyday price (excluding GST)
I'd say they would supply slightly cheaper for breweries buying in larger quantities.

Also keep an eye out for the new Coopers Malted grain products. Hopefully on the market this/next year.

I was going to order some base grains from Ellerslie in Mitcham.
If a few more are interested i'm potentially happy to run it.... maybe.

It's just down street from their warehouse.

Anyone keen on hops? they sell per 5kg bag and prices vary from about $30 to $60 per kg depending on hop variety.
That is crazy good. Didn't even know they stocked grain

Do they sell grain by weight or just by sack?
All grain by the 25kg sack.
Hops by 5kg bags (pellets) at the time they were phasing out 1kg hop sales and only doing 5kg lots.

see hops price list from 2015. I haven't got their 2017 prices yet. I'll fire an email & post back....

Edit: hop info

Alright.
Who needs some malt bags complete?

Or want to be involved with splitting a few 25kg bags?
I'm happy to pickup/store and then split with those upon pickup.

Might allow us to get some different malts than usual.
I.e Chateau Abbey

Hey Peeks, I'm keen, need to build up a stock, so seeing as you're starting a list...
Hook a brother up !

I need at least 4 bags & likely a couple of half bags too

Hells yeah. 1-2 of base, plus at least 5kg of biscuit. Dat **** is da bomb.
I'll go you a bisc-split 'babs - happy to go halvies if you want that much.

Also keen for a split of abbey @peekaboo_jones if you were expressing interest rather than just providing an example.

In a sack or two of base... Anyone used these malts before? How do they stack up against Gladfields (current fav), etc.
