I've been wondering how many corny kegs are enough.

I personally have a few more than I get to use/fill at any given time but I'm currently trying remedy this situation so that I can have a reserve of primed kegs ready to tap as required. I do like to rotate them around and will sometimes alternate between the 18ltr and 10ltr corny's.

Do you have that black sheep or spare parts keg that never seems to work quite right?

Do you have so many that really you could be supplying the local pub??

out ;)

I voted: 1-3 kegs (2), and yet to take the leap. They're sitting there doing nothing.... no fridge :( Any donations in Adelaide?

Got 3.

2 for beer: 1 for heavy ales and 1 for something lighter
1 for ginger beer for something different

You should have done an extra poll on how many do you think is enough because I could quite happily have another couple.

I've got 6 kegs but only ever seem to have 4 full at any given time. Probably stems from the fact my serving fridge holds 4. :beerbang:

If I had another serving fridge and more taps I could put paid to that though.

I got 4 19L kegs, 2 modified 15L kegs and 2 12L kegs.
I can have one large and one small keg ontap at once so 3 in reserve for each.

I've got 6 kegs and it's simply not enough, especially when you filter as you always need a spare keg for filtering (I hate double handling).

The more you've got the more you think you need.

I have two. Saving me shrapnel for another two.

Too true, I aways seem to be one short of a full set. :p

I have my 2 x 19l kegs on the go with my 4l party keg holding some excess. I have 4 more kegs on order from the States (waiting very patiently for Pepsi to stop using them... :) ). Me thinks at the moment that I will struggle to get more than 3 kegs on the go with brewing time limitations :( .

I have 9 kegs but i've never had any more than 6 in use at one time.
I guess it depends alot on how many taps you have, how often you brew and most important, how much you drink ! :)

AND HOW MANY NEW BLUDGING FAMILY MEMBERS YOU GAIN ON THE WAY

since i started brewing i have got more mates comming to see me now than when i did when i was single and even with a snarling wife (opps darling wife xx) there not even bothered buy her smiles of discontent.

9 x 19 litre, 1 x 20 litre, 1 x 45 litre, 3 x 11 litre and they all have beer in them.
Almost bought another one today.
As soon as one is empty, it is cleaned and re-filled within a day or two.

Ok Doc after that I feel I can confess

11x19lt...WTF happened to #12?
6X11lt

I could use a few more 19lt jobs

Yep, it is the fear of not coming home to at least a choice between a dozen beers, that keeps me motivated to brew and fill them.
If there are empty kegs, and spare fermentation space I start getting twitchy

:beerbang:

I have 18 x 19L kegs & 3 x 12L all with beer. Number 20 being filled in the morning.
Trouble is, now I have heaps of space in the cold room, I can't bear to finish some of the kegs off.
Being able to choose each evening from such a selection, it's hard to wipe the smile off :)
Guess it's no different to having a wine cellar....

cheers Ross

Only have four

but need more taps

I got 3 x 23ltr kegs & 3 19ltr kegs. Got 4 tapped and in the fridge, 1 in storage in temp controlled brew fridge and 1 empty ( which will soon be full)

Always keep 4 on tap at a time.
cheers :beerbang:

I think the only answer to this question is.

2 More than you have any form of storage room for.
