****, I thought it was one of those free delivery deals like the recent St StephanusSBOB said:unfortunately delivery is extra ($7/case)
Does anyone know what kind of bottles (i.e glass thickness) these come in ? I don't think the Blonde or the Radieuse (which is also on special) are bottle conditioned, so they're probably not thick ones by Belgian standards?earle said:Leffe Blonde - $59.95 at Dans including free delivery
Yeah they are thin bottles. Nowhere near the thickness of Duvel for example.purple-lazy said:Does anyone know what kind of bottles (i.e glass thickness) these come in ? Getting some free beer with my (admittedly pricey) bottles would be enough to take a chance on these as I've never tried Leffe before.
Thanks mate. Just the feedback I was looking for.Samuel Adams said:Yeah they are thin bottles. Nowhere near the thickness of Duvel for example.
I have used the bottles as giveaways and they were fine but I wouldn't buy them to re-use the bottles over and over.
But maybe you'll like the beer?Samuel Adams said:Yeah they are thin bottles. Nowhere near the thickness of Duvel for example.

Sounds like a vote for Radieuse then. I think I read that the Cooper's bottles have change to (slightly) thinner glass recently?Samuel Adams said:**** yeah, Radieuse is one of my favourite beers !
But if you want good bottles, buy Coopers Sparkling tallies.
I hope not, I might have to buy up old ones if it's the case.purple-lazy said:Absolutely. Still considering giving one or both of them a go. Just not letting the bottles influence the decision now. I have a Chimay Blue clone on my to brew list that I need some serious bottles for.
I'd be happy to hear testimonials for either of the Leffe's by the way, or comparisons to similar/competing beers.

Does the tallie have "DO NOT REFILL" on the base of the bottle as described here? That thread also mentions the bottles so marked weigh less than older examples.luggy said:I bought a coopers tallie today, looks exactly the same as the old ones, the stubbies recently got a bit taller and slimmer, you can blame woolworths for that not sure if the glass is thinner though
The Pale is way better.....Samuel Adams said:**** yeah, Radieuse is one of my favourite beers !

Pretty sure they had to make their stubbies slimmer because one of the European lagers that they are brewing under license required that they switch to a particular type of bottling machine, which happens to not be adaptable to different diameter bottles. Can't remember where I read/heard that, maybe Australian Brews News. Longnecks unaffected.purple-lazy said:Does the tallie have "DO NOT REFILL" on the base of the bottle as described here? According to the Australasian BBQ alliance on FB, they are known to fail by cracking in half or something along those lines. I guess that sort of vouchers for back up grott.grott said:Bribie, these aren't the ovens on a metal frame that had caused fires when the bottom of the oven drops out. Can't recall where I read this so be careful.
Cheers
Interesting. My local store only just started stocking home brew supplies again, and with a better range than last time (many years ago).NikZak said:I don't know if anyone really cares but Woolworths stores are deleting the homebrand draught cans so they're clearing them out at between 3 and 5 dollars a pop.
I'll buy a can and make up a swag of frozen pet bottle starters for that price.NikZak said:I don't know if anyone really cares but Woolworths stores are deleting the homebrand draught cans so they're clearing them out at between 3 and 5 dollars a pop.
Not at Woolies Park Ridge. But they have moved them down to the bottom shelf!!NikZak said:I don't know if anyone really cares but Woolworths stores are deleting the homebrand draught cans so they're clearing them out at between 3 and 5 dollars a pop.
