Hughman, now that you are living up in them there hills you better get educated in what animals you can feed spent grain to ;)

Rule 1 is Don't Feed it to Goats

Would this be because the grains and hops were fed to the goat together?

Sorry to read about the loss of the goat. They can be really nice pets.

Ive got two dogs, a Bullmastiff cross and a black Lab with a head the size of a saltwater croc. The Mastiff wont touch it, but the Lab quite enjoys a few handfulls of spent grain, but then again I have yet to see any variation of foodstuff that he won't inhale - maby tofu - but I dont actualy think thats a food.. If you own a Lab, you know what I mean.
Latley though Ive been using strategically placed piles of grain to attract indian miners to within sniping distance of my battered old air rifle.
Plink! - thwack! - he..he..he..gotcha sucker!..
+1, tofu isnt food
+1 for ar rifle snipes on the mynah!! good show

Oh yeah, sheep love the stuf, 4 sheep inhale 10kgs through the day. No side effets except fat sheep.

the only good indian miner has got a.177 headache :icon_cheers:

Shooting animals is hilarious.

I assume you own a property and the mynah is actually a threat/pest to you and surrounding wildlife (I know they can be) , not just an animal you take pleasure in hurting?

Not a fan of animal cruelty with no justification.

Now, now. Some Mynahs can go feral you know. I've heard of them digging burrows, causing erosion and taking out livestock

Back on the OT - apparently at one pennsylvanian brewery not only do the doggies that stop by love the spent grain, one resourceful dog-owner in the area has made a quid out of selling them as biscuits too.

Hey, good for you, cause Im not a fan of animal cruelty either, justified or otherwise.

They are an invasive pest, just like rabbits, cane toads or New Zealanders and should be dealt with accordingly...

Heres some propaganda from my local rag, and there's plenty more out there.
