Not a left hand thread, use a shifter over the Tee (where the valve is) if you have a footprint wrench use that on the old PRV, (if you haven't got a footprint use a set of vice grips) I presume you are going to fit your new one.
yep thanks WEAL took the "got nothing to lose" approach and vice gripped it to death and got it apart. Now planning a Bunnings trip for the adaptor. Thanks for the help.
 
Whatever you do, don’t overtighten into your adapter (even if it means it’s not visually lining up).

Bugger! @Fleabag. I hate when things like that happen. Thanks for the re- heads up.
Best to pack the thread heavier with the plumbers tape. Use the better plumbers thread stuff or twist the tape into thread and bind tight into the thread heavy. Then tighten to the best alignment. ;)
 
Sorry for the very dumb question but what is the thread on the PRV I bought? :confused:
