Hope is a beautiful thing

The 2 mills are chalk & cheese. It's like comparing the build of a Hyundai to a BMW. Both will get you from A to B though B)

So they're building BMWs in China now?

Good move guys... Having owned a Monster for 2 years now I can safely say they'll easily do the job for you.

Oh and FWIW neither mills are designed to crush chalk or cheese so you'll have no worries. :icon_cheers:

Put a motor on 'em and they can crush anything. B)

By motor i hope you mean drill?! I dont have the space to benchtop one of these beauties! Are ball bearings any trouble?! I plan to give some rye and raw wheat a crack when i get this sucker! Hopefully a drill can chew through it!

Damn you Melbourne for your ability to organise a bulk buy :(

In the words of Jim Morrison in Waynes world.

"If you book them, they will come."

Organise it yourself! (have a whisper in cannibal smurfs ear)

The monster mill is a good value mill by most accounts, but what do you mean by it's of "equal quality" to the millmaster?

Cheers Ross

Classic comments Ross! Have you ever owned/used a monster mill??? I know it must pain you to see so many potential customers buying a competitor's product but seriously, getting on here and bad-mouthing a tried and tested mill (that I have never heard a bad word said of) just reeks of sour grapes.

Also not so sure about your BMW analogy, I don't reckon the Germans would ever build a mill with wobbly rollers... ;)

I think you misunderstood him TD... By BMW he meant "Big Money Wasted".

What a surprise, the usual suspects jumping in with the usual attacks ;)

I never knocked the Monster - In fact we are looking at stocking it - I was just pointing out the 2 mills are very different & it's not just a "bling" factor.
Monster Mills are not a competitor to us, they are a supplier the same as Mashmaster, CraftBrewer do not make mills.

Cheers Ross

In defence of Ross, I do see his point with the millmaster and mainly due to the geared rollers. But in his own words they get me from A to B, they both crush grain for beer and niether will produce a higher quality beer at the end of the process (no, efficiency does not mean better beer).

This is also why im not opting for the top of the line monster mill either. Anyone that thinks a more expensive mill will give them a higher quality beer is just kidding themselves(unless you want 85+ efficiency). Its just like comparing brands of electric beaters saying one will mix better cakes than the other, when you can still get the same effect by hand!

Being somone who has not seen either in action and going off face value, the monster mill sells itself hands down.

For a 'bling' factor and with the price of the Millmaster being so high (seems to be a recurring theme for local products and bulk buys around here :p) buying one of these local products (produced overseas anyway) is just out of reach for most of us. ATM, we could buy the MM3 -2.0 for a relative price to our doorstep. Or the MM2 and 2 sacks of local base grain for the same price of a millmaster. People scream you should support local business! I wont be, especially when i can get an better/equal/or close to (depending on opinion) American product to my door for less. Today, the local market IS the world market and you better be willing to compete.

That idea seems a little outrageous doesn't it?!

Ok, back to the bulk buy! ;)

Why are they attacks Ross? We're only endorsing mills we own and use and are of course happy with. You tend to suffer a persecution complex at times.

FWIW I drive a Hyundai Getz. :p

Don't worry Fourstar, these babies will have plenty of 'bling factor' once we get rolling with the mdf & mayo bucket set-up! :beerbang:

Cheers SJ

I never knocked the Monster

Are you serious??? You likened them to a hyundai while implying the high and mighty millmaster was a BMW! Don't try and pretend that wasn't a stab at monster... And if it wasn't maybe you should be more careful about wording your analogies!

Yet another AHB thread tainted by the commercial agendas of a retailer...

LOL

5 more people and 2 buys can be organised. Maybe even a bigger discount.
