Update on the Goldings Plugs:

There's not actually 5Kg, but just over 2Kg. Each plug is roughly 12-14g, which makes them 1/2oz in the old money. There's 145 plugs + shakings in the bag.

I propose to divvie them up in roughly 200g lots, which means everyone gets 14 plugs per pack & I'll take the crap that's left over (call it transport, storage & bagging fee  ).

All Goldings plugs done. I'll get onto the Willamette tomorrow. 'Glad I bought a shitload of vac. sealer rolls!!!

if no-one is going to stick their hands up for the last 3 lots of willamette, can I please grab one

Anyone wish to propose a recipe incorporating PoR, Goldings, Spalt and Willamette? Plus I've got some Mt Hood in the garden that's about ready for harvest...

Looks like a few busy weekends coming up :)

100 IBU IIPA hopped to 80IBU with PoR and the rest with Goldings?
It's what I'm thinking about doing...

For those who came in late....

'Couldn't help myself & just broke-down & vac-packed the first box of Willamette.

I got 9x500g bags & the last one is 400g, so the last bloke on the list gets a short-bag (traps for new players/quick & the dead etc..etc... :( ).

They're obviously old & have no colour or "fresh" hop aroma, but still smell a little spicy (expected from Willamette, which is basically an American-grown Fuggle), but not cheesy (if they were, I would've called-it as a write-off).

They're listed on the box @ 7.3%, but I'd work on about 6-6.5% & use them only for bittering. They're definitely not the best flowers I've come across (2011 crop), but hell, what do you expect for nothing?

I'll keep you updated on the POR when I open them tomorrow.

Sp0rk, you've asked for a fair bit of this consignment. Are you sure you want to spend your $'s on mailing questionable quality?

if it all fits in a 3kg parcel post bag, it should only be $15ish (i think)
I'm splitting the PoR with another bloke and he's paying half the postage, so I'm willing to take the risk :)

Renaming thread title:

MELB: plate chiller, bottles, crates, HOPS.

Nice work offering up all these hops Manticle, and good on you Martin and the rest for helping distribute them. I'd have gotten in on this if I could brew enough to get through current supplies.

There's still a couple of Willamette slots available.

I can feel a few "Willamette-Wonders" coming up in the next few months :D

Sounds good to me. I want to set some aside for further aging for some future Belgian sours anyway ;)

I've got a heap of surplus vac rolls lying around if you need them Martin.

I've already vac-packed your single Willamette allocation, but there's still two slots left. If you want to take another one, I'll leave it un-packed for your Suranne-ing pleasure, or can sub-divide it?

I'll PM you about the vac-rolls (one box uses a whole roll!!).

Update on the hops: EVERYTHING I've got is packaged & ready to go for pick-up (that doesn't include the Spalt).

Gotta say, the POR are the choice of what I've been bagging-up, despite being 2011 crop. Lupulin city! My hands were very sticky & I now feel rather schnoozly.....

Matteus came over & provided me with a spare Vac-pack roll, which got me over the line (thanks!) & took his hops, plus an extra pack of Willamette (since there seems to be no more interest). If there's no objections, I'll take the last slot on the Willamettes (another short-bag), which means we're done. Complaints can be directed here:

Now we need to establish who wants to pick up what from where. Your choices are Fairfield, North Melb. or East Doncaster.

Sp0rk, I'll see what I can get into a bag/box for you & PM you to organise.

Copy/paste the list from here down:

Fairfield:

North Melb.:

East Doncaster:
