Duff,
Take no notice of Warren, he can't decide which side of the English Channel he's on. :)
If you get stuck I can help you out with some UK Crystal.

Brew wise the weather is looking pretty bleak and we have a visitor this weekend.
There is virtually no Pilsner or Schwarzbier in stock, but I have an APA that can/ should be kegged.
I might get something in on Monday, perhaps a Vienna.

Rgds,
Pete

Mine will be AG number two, a brown ale ( ala Palmers Tittawassee Brown).
Just have to try and feed the spent grain to the neighbors goat with out being seen. I think the RSPCA are tapping my phone!!

Next brew will probably be next weekend and will be a special bitter along these lines with target, EKG and some northdowm.

Sorry pumpy.... no pic yet. Its still a twinkle in my eye :)

Will be using up my existing english ale yeasts and going back to SO-4 for a while for a go. I havnt used it in years and have tries several liquid english and irish strains.

Still none give the flavor and incredible fast firment and flocking cahracteristics that SO-4 has.

chers

Yes Tony ,

Go the SO-4 yeast I love it .

Who is helping you drink all that beer ;)

Pumpy :)

after a taste of Dr.Gonzo's wheat, i'm getting the 3333 smack pack ready.
Still have 2 fermenters full of Pils though.... 2 months from grain to brain is really testing my patience. I need a quick drinker.

I have been threatening to do a brew so I should get started this weekend. I have an Australian Pale Ale cube to dump into a fermentor. Following that will be a double batch of Choc Porter, which is long overdue.
Enjoy the long weekend
Gerard

Me and my beer gut Pumps :)

LOL! Pete, Cara Aroma's there basically because we don't seem to be able to get any dark English Crystals here.

Tried it before. Not totally orthodox but tastes good. :)

Blueberry porter - now that sounds intersting - what form are you adding the berries JJ & what quantity?
Assume you're going to add during secondary?

Cheers Ross

Put down a pale ale yesterday bittered with chinook and flavoured/aroma with 90g of glacier and kegged a Sierra Navada celebration Ale. Doing an Anchor Liberty clone tomorrow.

ya gotta love Craftbrewing

cheers

Adding whole frozen blueberries to secondary at a rate of 1 kg. It is less that the recommended of 4 to 5 pounds I have read others do. I am aiming for a blended taste not an over powered fruit beer. Lets hope it works out as I love porter and bluberries!!!

Cheers, JJ

Just finished a cereal mash with polenta for an ESB, this will be followed by another american wheat :chug:

Put down a German Pils this morning, just picked up a heap of fireworks. HE HE HE.

Gotta love Canberra!

Going the Schwarzbier on Monday. This will be the forth AG so far and the first using a liquid yeast. I'm using the German Bock yeast.

Floculator
Tim

just chilled a german wheat
I still used pellet hops for bittering and leaf hops for flavour/aroma but this time I used a hopsock and no stuck kettle runoff :D Happy end to a brew day.

Hi All,

A spur of the moment decision this afternoon had me do a Dry Stout (Dingo's Donga Dry Stout) :D . with a Nottingham Ale yeast.
At the same time I made a 1056 starter for a APA on Monday.
If the starter is slow to go it will be a "no chill" APA.
I like the flexibility of the no chill method.

Cheers

Racked and dry hopped my APA with cascade and chinook (thanks Ross).
Made up a Newcastle Brown clone and Czech Pils on Saturday.
Cheers

Here's a pic of one of the carboys of my Bitter in action. Anybody seen such weird krausen?

Yeast is Wyeast 1187 (Ringwood Ale). This is one weird yeast, however it's also rapidly becoming one of my favourites. Great clearing and top flavour profile provided you swirl the fermenters a couple of times a day from about the 2nd to 3rd day onwards otherwise it wants to give up. :)

Must have gotten up too early. I missed one of my 60 min. hop additions. It's a 30 IBU beer instead of 35 IBU. Not to worry. :beerbang:
