Guys n Gals,

I currently have 3 yeast cultures availible for pitching on to a TTL

They are: 1968, 1028, 1314.

Which would be the most appropriate?

Leary

1469 sorry, someone had to say it.

1314?

Definitely not 1028.

1968 will give you fruity esters, but not the stone fruit and tartness of 1469.

Cheers,
BB

If you mean 1318 London ale III instead of 1314 then that also has some fruity character and is a favourite of mine, but sadly the 1469 West Yorkshire
Ale yeast stands alons IMHO.

Yeah 1318 my bad.

i've used the 1318 in a few beers now but it always seems to finish a bit dry for my liking, even in beers with plenty of crystal and mashed high.

i'll prob use the 1968 then.

cheers

Hi Leary,
I'm brewing with 1469 at the moment at high krausen. If you want some of the yeast let me know and i'll capture some of the Krausen off for you. But i'm down south, so it's a fairly big drive for you.

As for the question asked. I dunno, this is my first time with a proper english yeast.

Cheers,
A3k

I have several vials of 1469 if you want a sample. I will be driving thru that way (or near enough to) either tuesday or wednesday night after work. Happy to drop some off to you.

Cheers
DrSmurto

Yep, take up Smurto on the offer. 1469 is the bomb. I'm so glad I have some on slants.
