Hey townsville, so from monday the 5th i can place my order? is this correct? and where

Yes thats correct. I went early for a number of reasons, one of which was to wittle the existing list down so my workload would be ALOT less. Instead of chaos, I have a mad panick instead.

What will happen is simple. This might seem labour intensive, BUT it allows a very smooth operation for those behind the scene.

1. From Monday ON THIS THREAD you will ask to be put on the list. no actual order yet.
(If you wish to remain hidden you will contact me and ask to be put on in code, ie xxxxx)
2. When we have allocated a number to you on the list, you will see your name appear on the list. It will be updated at least once a day.
3. When you see your name, you contact me with your order, as per the details I have said.
4. I tell you how to pay in return e-mail.

Now the time line will be strict to a - contact me and b - to make payments. no exceptions.

Saaz/Cluster/Nugget - $14.00 a kilogram
Cascade - $14.50 a kilogram
Marco Polo - $16.50 a kilogram

(feel free to delete if need be Graham).

It should be no surprise that The Great Chinese Hop Buy 2009 starts tommorrow.

PLEASE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS if you want to be involved.

Also note ordering will close Friday 9 October, and final payments MUST be made by Tuesday 13 October 2009.

But I personally would not leave it til the last minute. The orders are in 20 kg lots, so if an order is not up to the 20 kg mark, it will NOT be ordered. ie If we have a total of 65kg of Saaz hop for instance, we will be ordering only 60 kg. What will happen is the last people to place and pay for their order (that 5 kg) will MISS OUT if thats the case (and naturally get their money back).

Equally as the week progresses, we may stop taking orders on certain types if there is no way its going to make a 20 kg mark. Ie for example, if by Thursday, the orders for Saaz is 65kg and it looks like there is no way we will reach the next 80 kg mark, we will stop taking orders for Saaz).

So you can see its important to get in early, and pay early.

The list will be updated at least once a day, (targeting twice a day) to ensure everyone knows where they stand. We will also give feedback if any variety has reached a cut-off or is nearing cutoff.

Delivery of hops should be about a month. The timeline is

1. 2-3 days to pack, transport and load on ship
2. 14-21 days for ship to arrive in Brisbane
3. 2-3 days to unload off ship
4. 7 days to clear Customs and AQIS
5. 7 days to sort, pack and mail out

I work on you getting your hops 1 to 1.5 months

This is how the ordering will work

LIST ENTRIES ABOVE NUMBER 60.

All entries must finalise their ordering, and payment by Wednesday 7 October 2009. Basically you have had plenty of time to get your act together, and as the organisor, I need to start to finalise ordering amounts.

Any order not finalised and paid, will get a NO entry against their name on the list.

If that person want to order after that, they will have to place a brand new order at the end of the cue.


NEW ORDERS

As the committee will have lots to do, especially making sure we are getting the size of the order right, and not take money needlessly from you, you MUST follow these procedures to the letter. We have a system of checks and cross-checks that should ensure things run smoothly.

NOTE, have your payment method sorted NOW. Payment is via a Commonwealth Bank account, and you will be given the BSB code and account to pay into.



1. Registering your Interest.

Please post on this forum if your interested. That is all you have to do at first.

we do not want your order, nor any other details. What we will be doing behind the scenes is monitoring existing orders and working out trends, sizes of orders etc.

NOTE : if you wish to have a private order for whatever reason you are to contact me at [email protected] stating you wish this. You will be given a code name for the list.



2. The List

Your next step is to monitor the list that is published at least daily. Its very simple.

- if you see your name and it says "yes, waiting, waiting" you have been accepted, and you need to contact me about what you want to buy

3. Order and Payment

Once I have your order details, I will tell you what is available and where to pay. Its then up to you to pay AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Last payment date will be TUESDAY 13 October.
