does anyone know if there is a 'bar fridge' size fridge that I could get to fit one of these fermenters

I'm moving into a small apartment and need a small fermentation fridge that will fit this 60l fermenter.. i think its going to be hard though, as most of the bar fridges have too much of a hump on the inside.

Or possibly a small upright freezer.. Whatever is the best fit...

Try ebay, bought a bar fridge of there that fits my 30L fermenter nicely. Not sure it youll be able to find a bar fridge to fit it though might have to opt for something a bit bigger, however you could build a insulated box to fit around the original opening of the fridge and put the door on the new box.

I use these in a 400 liter fridge /freezer and had to remove the shelf rails off the door so the door would close!

Its gunna be a big bar fridge

cheers

I got the same 60l job, mine just fits into the fridge on the right and I had to get a low profile airlock.
There is a timber stand in the bottom which takes up a bit of height but using a barfridge is a bit hopeful it think.

Cheers

Keep an eye out for All Fridges, rather than fridge /freezer combos. This will help you get a smaller unit.

i used to get one into a 115L westinghouse fridge/freezer... very tight squeeze..

i could go for that again but the freezer was just wasted space.. So yeah an 'all fridge/freezer' option would be best..

I currently have a pigeon pair of uprights - 2 x 500L fermentation fridges.. just wont have anywhere near enough room in the new appartment

you need to get a bigger appartment then :)

I modded a tall bar fridge once by bending the freezer evaporator plate down against the rear of the fridge to get more clearance and could fit one of those 60L fermenters in it standing on the compressor hump with an airlock made from beverage tube into a bottle of sanitiser. The inner skin of the door had also been removed by the fridges previous custodian. As far as I know it the fridge is still going as I passed it on to Guest Lurker, I will try and get him to take a photo of what it looks like later this week.

NOTE be careful if you are going down this route, there is potential to bugger the fridge up and vent the refrigerant charge to atmosphere if you get it wrong which is a big environmental no-no and also illegal

beachfront apartments on manly beach don't come cheap :)

Mmm no.

Would rather space to work on my hobbies than a view any day. And i dont have to pay a premiem for my living space!

Enjoy your new apartment!

cheers

this is similar to the fermentation fridge I currently have. And yes it fits fine.

But i'm looking for the smallest possible fridge. Something that the 60L fermenters will only just fit into

bumping this thread.. there must be someone here that has got one of these into a small fridge of some sort...

You might need to have a look at the kegerator dimensions. They fit a commercial 50L keg in them with out a lot of spare room. Then you can use it for kegging if you need to.

thats actually a good idea, they hold 50l kegs which are almost the same size as this fermenter, so could be the go.

I wonder if there is anywhere you can buy just the fridge part, without the font etc

What about a small chest freezer? only issue is getting it in and out as a 1 man band!

I got one of these Link
Fits my 60L fermenter perfectly. Only problem is that i have to sacrifice not being able to drink from my kegs for a couple of weeks.
