This is an open invitation to anyone able to get to Canberra for the Canberra Brewer's monthly meeting
(Harmonie German Club, Narrabundah, 7.30pm Thurs 1st May).
Our special guest will be Ross from Craftbrewer, who at huge personal expense (to hip pocket and liver) will be jetting down to give us the good oil on liquid hops.
This meeting will have $$HUGE$$ raffle prizes, as well as the comp results from our first club competition.
As usual, members will be sharing their finest beer, so come along and see why ACT is the home of craftbrew.

Bugger doing Dallas when you can do Canberra

Well done Canberra Brewers on what looks like the type of show that those of us who probably can't make it will be sore we didn't. :beerbang:

Adding to Matts invitation, the Canberra Brewers is please to announce that we also have arranged a Brew Day at the WIG & PEN with Master Brewer Richard Watkins on Saturday 3rd May starting 11am sharp. This is a wonderful day, Richard answers questions and give us a guided tasting of the Wig & Pens beers. Richard has just returned from judging the USA and i am sure he will have some stories to tell. On the day we will have a couple of raffles, one will be a KEG of the Wig & Pens beer (priceless) if it is on tap you could work out with it on the day.

There will be a small cost for the day which will include the tastings and lunch, if you are interested please reply to this post so we can get an idea of numbers.

I also would encourage Canberra brewers to come along to the monthly meeting, we have a huge raffle lined up, as well as Ross form Craft Brewer.

Cheers

Craig

I'm keen Bro. Stagger.

I'll be in Canberra thursday night too!

Will have to discuss with the Mrs and see whether I can get away with this one...

Bugger - bad timing for me, maybe next time, (registering interest)

....if you are in the ACT or surrounds and were thinking of joining our nifty little club, then come to our next meeting , next Thursday, as per Matts details at the top , you'll be glad you did...

...as Stagger and Matt have done my work for me on here , all i have to add is , if you really love beer as much as you think you do you will not miss this Wig and Pen Brew Day ....you will not have this much fun for 15 bucks anywhere...not even Fyshwick...as mentioned, members please reply here or on our board, for numbers...

...Oh...and seeing as this is our annual Wig Day , there will be the 'Charleton Heston Memorial Award' for the member who shows up in the best wig...
...Stagger's got his Frank Sinatra model, Matt's just gonna comb his beard up over his head and I've borrowed Granny's merkin...

...Cougar...

KooK you are very welcome to join us, we have a great time at the meetings. PM me if you need any more info

Stagger

Damn, I'm working during both of those times. Would love a chance to win a keg of wig and pen beer... oh and a chance to hear Ross speak about liquid hops ;).

One day when I'm not working odd hours at a bottlo I'll make it to a canberra homebrew meeting and join up.

Ooooh, as a regular customer of Ross's, i'm very tempted.

I've been meaning to check out the club as well.

Might just be able to make it.

Sam

Im excited. The W&P brew days are great.
Cheers
Steve

P.S. Ross bring your beanie n thermals. Looking forward to finally catching up for a few ales.

The temp has drop in the last couple of days, i thing Ross will have enough antifreeze in him the beat the cold.

Bags packed & just weighing the case to see how many beers I can fit in B)

Really looking forward to this guys....the liver's been in training all week :icon_drunk:

Cheers Ross

Ah Ross, the pain, the pain!
Should be a great weekend, with lots of brewers cashing in brownie points!
Whatever you do, don't let Stagger drink all your good stuff.

A word of warning.
I understand that the elusive Dr Ulysses N Kurtz will be at both the meeting and the brewday.
He tells me he is thinking of bringing a bottle of Trap d'Or Phelgmish Red along to the meeting.

...Is it true that Ophelia is gonna be about for the 'Charleton Heston'...???

Well, poor Ophelia has been a bit down for the last week with a sore throat but she has promised me that she will be there with Kurtz..just don't tell too many people, you know how she has been since that ingrown toenail incident last yaer.
