So we get a day off to celebrate Lizzie's birthday on Monday. What's everyone brewing this long weekend?

Tomorrow I'm a slaughter and salami assistant, as a guest of some Italian friends of ours who are doing their annual chopping up of a couple of pigs and turning them into salami, sausage, proscuitto, ham, etc. Start with the blood and guts at 6.00am :beerbang:

Sunday will fire up the boiler and try my first decotion Pilsner.

Monday after checking speciality grain quantities will come up with something else to brew, ideally an ESB, but who knows.

Cheers.

Seriously thought about it, but I did three brews last week, and a brew each of the two weekends before that, so I'm almost at capacity. The weather is also looking very ordinary.

Duff ,

I am going to Mash a Brown ale and some English Bitter for a change .

I am thinking of making my beer a bit stronger , I really enjoy that Leffe range whilst in the UK they really had flavour so perhaps a batch at 6.5% instead of 4.5%.

Great trippin Music .

Probably my first Pilsner (Bohemian though!) No decoctions just yet though. Maybe on the next batch. :)

Just depends on how much energy I have after wasting the night watching a bunch of blokes running around kicking a ball one way and then the other. (according to my wife anyway).

i am going to brew the famous firkin bolter

I'm going for a HOPPY American pale ale tommorow (have to pick up a few extra grains tommorow morning), and hopefully either a pilsener or Australian pale ale on Sunday. I gotta work Monday, so no time for brewing that day.

Cheers :)

Today was an (11a) Mild,

Tomorrow is a (15a) Weiss

Ah, decisons, decisions.

Bosun Best Bitter, and a Pilsner for me. Double brew day on sunday and really looking forward to it.

Cheers

I have 150 liters of beer in firmenters so no brewing for me.

I just emptied a keg 2 schooners ago so will rack the Strong ale and IPA and add a bit of finnings to clear.

Will bottle the strong ale and keg the IPA on monday if all goes well.

The IPA can then sit under pressure for a month to gas and mature till the CAP i just tapped is gone. Ant that wont take long as its bloody great.

1st schooner was gassed perfectly with a 1/2 inch creamy head and clear as a bell :)

I love it :)

cheers

Warren -

Good stuff Warren.

I had a look at my speciality grain stock, but thought against an ESB for Monday because I didn't have enough 145 Crystal. Was leaning towards a majority MO brew with some light crystal and torrified wheat, never thought of using CaraAroma which I have a bit of.

Mine will probably have Target, Challenger and Northdown Plugs (from you know who) and a brand new hop sock to try out :beerbang:

Cheers.

I'm making a 2 recipes from last BYO magazine - Young's Special Ale and Young's Double Chocolate Stout. It's the first time I have done 2 AG's in one day so fingers crossed I get everything in order.

Also debuting my MashMaster Chillout Plate Wort Cooler which looks pretty good.

Next brew will probably be next weekend and will be a special bitter along these lines with target, EKG and some northdowm.

Will be using more than 1.9% crystal though.

Sorry pumpy.... no pic yet. Its still a twinkle in my eye :)

Will be using up my existing english ale yeasts and going back to SO-4 for a while for a go. I havnt used it in years and have tries several liquid english and irish strains.

Still none give the flavor and incredible fast firment and flocking cahracteristics that SO-4 has.
