I have a Benchy that has a drip from the left hand side about 1/2 way down that side
Has this happened with other benchy’s in the past?
Any idea as to where this leak could be originating from and how to fix it?

It's most likely condensation. Really the only way to stop these condensation drips is by continuing to improve the insulation. It seems to be more of an issue in warmer areas with higher humidity.

We are in the process of putting together insulated hose packs for the glycol hoses and also this kit will be available with dry break quick disconnect fittings so this will also help the situation when they are finished but in the meantime just do what you can do insulate the hoses and anywhere you are getting condensation.

Ok thanks for the reply. I’ll look forward to checking out the insulated hose packs when available
I also have another problem
I also have a G20 glycol chiller that has served me well however one side (the one that I’ve used the most) seems to not be pumping. It sounds like the pump motor is spinning but not pumping
Could it be possible that the impeller has come off the drive shaft?
Also would there be any instructions for how to pull the chiller apart to try to rectify or replace the pump?
Thanks again for your prompt reply

Our customer service team can assist you on that one. From what I have heard is that the most common issues is if customers freeze the bath (due to either too low set point or not enough glycol concentration) and this can damage the pump. Alternatively if they have solids fall into the tank and they get caught into the pump impeller.

We have also have made several changes to the pumps and configuration over the past 3 years so it's best that you email photos of the unit you have including photos of the pumps and that way the customer service team can then respond in a way that is specific to your particular G20.

Thanks for that info. I might have to put a dash more glycol in it as I did have a frozen batch in the fermenter a while back (only time)
I’ll start pulling it apart next week

It's fairly common for this to be condensation so I am assuming this is the issue. In humid environments or when the chiller is getting run and low temperatures the condensation is an issue to be honest.

If you email some photos to our customer service team they can probably be of better assistance as they would most likely come across this type of enquiry.

The condensation issues and glycol dripping out of hoses and stuff is really one of the main reasons why I much prefer the RAPT Fermentation Chamber solution.

If it is condensation normally it's about reducing the airflow to that condensation point and improving the insulation but it's difficult to say for sure without seeing the unit.

If the tank got frozen I am guessing the impeller or impeller shaft might get broken. A replacement pump might be necessary.

I have a RAPT fermentation chamber that I've been using exclusively for distilling fermentations. Been pretty consistent about keeping it clean but I've noticed some staining down the left side (pictures). When I took off the fan shroud I noticed additional dripping stains. I'm guessing it's from the condensation on the copper tubing, so I have 3 questions.
1. Can I insulate the tube with something to keep this from happening again?
2. Is there a way to clean the stains? I've tried Lysol all purpose cleaner as well as a bleach solution and nothing will take the stains out.
3. Also, there is a black sticky patch around a portion of one of the tube's. It was almost coming off so I pressed it back. Anyone know what this is for and if I shouldn't have tampered with it?

It's very difficult to stop the condensation in this part of the RAPT chamber. Like all fridges the condensation will eventually form on the evaporator and tubing that leads to the evaporator.

The stain is most likely from some copper oxide so something like citric acid solution to clean the stain but I would not be using any strong acid on the copper tube itself. If you painted the copper tube with some nail polish or epoxy paint this would also probably prevent condensation coming off the copper and then staining the inside of the fridge.

I think the black sticky tape is for holding the parts in place while the assembly is done on this unit.

That looks like it's working. Thanks

This product has had a few delays as we have ad some issues with the sensor supplier but we are resolving these issues now and we hope to have this released in July or August now. Sorry about the long delay.

No sorry we have had some flow on delays. We have finally the pressure sensor supplier was getting too difficult to deal with so we switched pressure sensor supplier and due to the new shape of pressure sensor we have had to change the injection molded tooling for the product. As a result we are now delayed another few months. Very sorry about this. We hope to get this in stock before the end of the year. I know a lot of people have been asking about this device so I can assure you that we are doing everything to get this product finished ASAP.

Linky no worky

We do have this already in testing at the moment. This feature is already planned to be released and will look like this:

Note: This image above is from the "Beta" testing portal and you can't see this yet but it's something that will be rolled out eventually to everyone else eventually.

We are still doing testing on this function at the moment and we also require a new firmware release to all devices so we can make this available to the public but it's definitely something that will exist for you guys in the future. There is no limit to the number of alerts you can put in a step.
Hi,

as a year has passed, is there any update on this? Can you share when this is expected to make it out of beta? Thank you.
Creating a profile for a beer with many hop additions (thus notifications) is now quite clunky.

And since I'm asking questions, can you please tell me the temperature limits for you wort spread/aerator and low volume CIP?

And finally, are there any plans to integrate the mashing profiles/recipes with BrewFather like Grainfather has?

Thank you.

And perhaps a feature request. When in a profile, one can skip ahead, but it would be nice if the current step could be changed. The duration and temperature specifically.

I guess this should/could be on the device only.

This has already been released. So if you try and make a new profile now and have an alert that is a certain number of minutes into a step

Thank you for the response.

I don't have that option, I only get the four visible in the screenshot. All my profiles are new as I only started using it yesterday. The step here is of course a timed step.

I've tried different browsers and the app, but it always only lists those four options for an alert.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

See https://gitlab.com/rapt.io/public/-/issues/466

The last comment by Kee indicates that it's release is soon.

For all RAPT related requests they have a gitlab Issue Tracker that can be accessed from the RAPT Portal, under My Account.

Thanks for that link.

It's interesting that this hasn't been released yet when it's been in beta (evidenced with screenshots) for over a year: https://aussiehomebrewer.com/goto/post?id=1582592
It also says it was already planned to be released at that time.

It's a bit confusing. One wonders what happened, as even they themselves, two posts above, seemed to think it had been released already.

@KegLand-com-au Can you confirm its indeed still in beta and give any ETA on when to expect this? And would you mind looking at my question regarding the temp tolerance of the accessories?

Thank you.
