Just recieved a free copy of the May 2005 All About Beer magazine. I applied for it online at http://www.allaboutbeer.com/aab/offer.html

It's a pretty good read but more aimed towards the American Craft Beer consumer as opposed to the home brewer.
There is a home brewing department in the mag and in the edition I have there is a recipe for a "Shivery Winter Saison" which I am going to brew. It is from Randy Mosher.

There is also a good review section on Stouts and Porters.

Anyway, go there and sign up for a free copy. :)

And the odd Scottish expatriot :D

Speaking of US beer mags - I joined up to AHA a while back but haven't seen a Zymurgy yet - has anyone received one in the last few weeks???
Looking for the March/April issue which was supposedly posted middle of February?
Anyone seen it?

Did better than me TDA,

I signed up last year and got the "free edition" it was basically 50 pages of ads and a scant article on Cologne. Lucky I didn't pay for the bloody thing.

Certainly wouldn't have signed up for a subscription.

Oh also had some beer tastings by a bloke named Garrett Oliver (Brewmaster of Brooklyn Brewing Co.) He uses really flowery ****-ridden descriptives for beer flavours.

Only paraphrasing but terms like. Hmmm  luscious hints of burnt sesame prawn-toast notes dancing up and down on my burnt avacado, pawpaw tongue. Bring on the iced vo-vos.

I could well imagine this bloke with a lisp. You know what I mean.

Warren -

Maybe we need someone new to sign up every month to keep getting the current issue

Dicko,

I had same problem until I disabled my internet security - then worked fine...

Was just browsing this online, found this in the features section:

Which led us to ask: with all this opportunity, which beers should all beer lovers be sure to try? We asked thirty beer professionals to name their "must-taste" beers: both the beers that are so unusual, outstanding or strange that they stand out, and the reliable, day-to-day gems that are too easily taken for granted.

Now, take a guess which Australian beer (yes, only one) made the list.

Brace yourself & click here to find out.
:) :(

...and at least it wasn't TED.
Was this review written by Grant Sampson?
It's good to see that there were no comments for the beer. I'm dumbstruck too.

Seth :p
