So the Australian International Beer Awards dinner 2010 is on tonight at Crown Casino Pallidum room...

Good luck to ALL the local micro's.... the internationals well i guess good luck too (but not so much as our locals)

Whats everyones predictions?

Anyone going to the dinner and awards tonight? I cant wait, never been and have heard its a really really good night.

i feel sorry for your head come tomorrow morning already!

Predictions:
Kooi Gold medal! :icon_cheers:
Nogne-o Champion brewery!

Good luck to kooi, haven't tried it yet but if its anything as good as some say then it must be a gold medal standard beer, I hope they kick everynes arse with not just a gold but a top placing. They will be up against a huge field in that class of all gold medal beers and many silvers I expect.
I give them best label if that counts and am rooting for em.

Wishing I was in melbourne right now and would have, could have and proberly should have but I'll be stretching it to just get there in october really.

Good luck to the SA brewers, if Beard and Brau entered they should do well same as the Woolshed brewery. Lobethal you expect to do well and Steam Exchange,
High hopes for Brewboys Ace of Spades and Seeing Double and good luck to Kai< once was South Australian.

Good Luck Fents.....

when will it be in WA dont make me come over there! LOl! enjoy the win!

thread was not intended to be about me/us, but cheers everyone for the support.

just so you know last year no beer got a gold in the pale ale catagory (packaged (Class C)not draught) so its a pretty hard achviement and i doubt there will be gold this year either.

I was there for the judging, but I won't say anything to keep it a surprise :) there were quite a few gold medals given out though!

What brewery do you work at Fents?

top work firestone gold with the firestone pale 31. i'm sideways more tommorow :D

Anyone seen the full results anywhere?

Noted Samuel Adams longshot winner took out a Gold for for the Barley Wine Congrats to "Ben Miller of New Mexico" talk about living the dream! ;)

I was pleased to see some good results from the Wig and Pen with Richard taking out medals for 11 of his 14 entries including a gold for the RIS and the only two golds awarded for sour beers. I was also impressed with the strong showing from Nogne-O with their four beers taking out 2 gold and 2 silver.

I intend to find out whether that was Richard or someone else's idea as I love it. I can only hope that it is also the official name of this year's RIS.

Nice to see the Hunter Brewers getting some places, with a fair number of medals going to both Potters and Murrays
Big ups for Keith's podium finish

Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria Trophy
for
CHAMPION PORTER
Hunter Chocolate Porter
Hunter Beer Co - New South Wales, Australia
Class 5 - Exhibit 975

Yep Keith dun good.
As did a bunch of the smaller guys - well done.

Thanks very much guys, much appreciated.

I finally find myself sober and with the time to say thanks to the many brewers (home brew, craft or some of the lads at the bigger breweries esp. Bluetongue) out there.

I hope that there are a bunch of people out there who feel like they have a share in our results, because there are plenty of people who should - if you've shared a brew with me, or an idea, or your experience, or your passion then I really do hope you do share our excitement.

Two more things.

Keep sharing the love; &

No, the trophy is staying at our place.

Thanks again,

Keith
