Hi guys,
Probably silly question. I was planning to do a yeast starter for a strong pale ale (Original Gravity: 1.069) but in the last moment I realized I didn't have light DME, only wheat DME so finally I used that one. Now I am waiting a day or two but I am not sure if I can use the starter for the beer that I had in mind or I should change the plan and go for a wheat one. The initial recipe was a pale ale using Maris Otter pale malt.

I used 200gr of wheat DME for the extract. Should I now use 200gr less when I start to cook the wort itself?

Thanks in advance,

Put your starter sit in the fridge for a day and let all the yeast fall to the bottom. Chuck the top liquid and use the yeast, should work just fine.

Ideally, you should throw away spent wort from starters anyway.
