Anyone tried Wyeast 1099 in an APA?

This is one of my Favorite yeasts at the moment and am currently drinking a Blonde Ale using it and thought that it may go okay in an APA

anyone?

Yup. Works well. It has more character than the usual 'APA' yeasts, but it pretty low-key. You might want to mash a little lower than usual, as it's not the world's greatest attenuator.

Haven't done an APA with the 1099 but the description sounds similar to the Northwest Ale yeast which I've used numerous times in APAs and IPAs with great results. I'd give it a go, it won't be out of style.
