Hey,

Im ready to pour my brew but thought id try a clearing agent as im getting alot of sediment lately...

When do i add it?

The brew has stopped bubbling so im ready to bottle but how long does the clearer need to be in ?

thanks

Most things I have read on finfings say to add them "at the end of vigorous fermentation", therefore I usually add finings when the bubbling becomes very slow (like once an hour) and then leave it for a day or two. Once you add the finings the bubbling can kick up a bit for as much as a day.

I think I read in one of the bizzos under a kit lid to put it in at least 48hrs prior to bottling. Hope this helps

I used gelatine for the first time this week. I teaspoon of gel in 100ml of warm water, racked my beer
at 1012 to secondary and then mixed it in.Within 24 hours it had settled out very clear.Another day later I racked to a cube and the clarity was fantastic on both my AG and K&K. Will be doing it again.

I've added gelatine to the secondary before crash chilling and it turned out very clear

Last week I added it to a batch that I'd kegged a few days before - cause it wasn't clearing up at all (windosr yeast) - it cleared up within 24-48 hours

I've read that some people have added it when bottling and got very bright results

Cheers
