Was looking at the bread **** thread and wanted to bake realized I didn't have an appropriate vessel for the no knead recipe, searched the interwebs and came up with this. Can't vouch for quality etc, I'll have no idea what it's like until mine arrives but seems like a pretty good get at that price plus $10 postage. No idea how many they have left.

Main thing with them is the knob on the handle, some of them are only rated to 200c so might get a bit soft in a 250c oven, only one way to find out, I think you can buy higher temp knobs online anyway.

Thanks for the tip. I'm looking forward to mine arriving.

My old man got me one of these as he swears by them. They always seem to be ridiculously reduced but I've never seen them advertised for the full price. I use them for slow cooked casseroles. The beauty is you can put them on the electric stovetop, braise your meats and the like then bung them in the oven for the day. My handle is still like new but I've never had them in a really hot oven. Might have to give that bread recipe a go.

Have just sent the dude a email to check its in good working order if it is ill take it. For $50 it's seems too cheap but hell what's $50.

Excellent book with methods for Calzone and Pizza etc from the same simple dough.

Thanks for the link nu_brew, does seem similar to the New York Times recipe link that Liam_Snorkel put in the bread **** thread, I'm keen to read more before I have a go at it though, Makes it seem really easy which means I'm sure to stuff it up!

Reasonably priced vacuum sealer that was recommended by a trusted AHB member.

$99 including postage and 30m bag rolls.

I'll report back after I give it a go.

The vacuum sealer arrived in the mail at the weekend.

It looks good and feels to be well constructed.

It get has strong suction and a good seal using the roll it came with.

I'd recommend this model to anyone looking for a reasonably priced sealer.

Carboy/fermenter cleaner at Aldi from Sat. 23 November.
Or even a cheap bidet!

Yep as predicted by OzPaleAle the knob on my new casserole/bread vessel is only rated to 210degrees C. May have to try and find a new knob!
