Over the weekend we held the first state qualifying competition for the AABC national competition that Tassie has ever had.
It was the culmination of almost a year of work since the afternoon that Nick (that's BrewTas to you lot) and myself sat in his loungeroom and said "Let's have a state homebrew competition in Tasmania next year".
This year has been a huge amount of back and forth between the Hobart and Launceston brew clubs but it all ran very smoothly in the end.
A big thanks to Sacha Wanda for an absolutely stellar job in organising.
Big thanks to our sponsors Cool Wine in Hobart and Brew By You.
Thanks to Stephen from Canberra Brewers for coming down and sitting on the panel as head judge and thanks to everyone else that sat on the judging panels.
Thanks to the New Sydney for hosting us over the two day event and even opening specially just for us.
Last but not least, a big thank you to everyone that entered. 56 entries in total over 6 categories. This is only going to grow from here on out.
So here are the results...
