Is it normal for a regulator to make a little noise when turning up the CO2?

I received my new TESUCO dual guage regulator last week and set it all up.

When you turn the CO2 up you can hear the regulator under pressure, its sort of a whining/vibrating noise and is only apparent when opening the valve to let more CO2 through.

Mine makes a sound when adding another keg to the system when a burst of flow is required to bring the new keg up to pressure. I have a micromatic, but no real apparent vibration or whining though.

Was it in good condition, i.e. not damaged / no loose bits in the regulator?

In saying the above it could well be fine - I presume no leaks?

My 1-way valves rattle like an old holden when any change in pressure happens, but no leaks.

Freaked me out for a while, but I dont think there is anything I can do to fix.

Thanks guys, the regulator had no signs of damage. I havent really used one for kegging before so wasnt sure.

Cheers

Mine does it too

And the check valve rattles :)

Mine does it, I think most of that sound comes from the non return valve (assuming you have one).

Agree with Mark. The tesuco regs have a NRV built in.
