New Kegger Help Plz

i all i did a search before posting this but couldnt find anything specific enough for my queries.
i have just bought a keg setup with a harris regulator (picture attached) basically i am not real sure how to use it.
when i tighten the knob on the regualator clockwise the gauge on the left will increase up to 30psi or so but screwing it either way will not lower the pressure. so is teh only way to beable to pour my beer to release the pressure with teh gas relief valve? or am i missing something bleedingly obvious?

screw it out[acw] then release keg pressure til it drops below 10psi, then screw it in til it goes up to 10psi.
It wont go down screwing it left because its holding pressure. Cheers

You'll need to vent the built up pressure (prolly in the keg). Just pull the relief valve and the pressure on the gauge will drop (or re-equalize). you just have pushed in x amount of pressure with no where for it to go, and telling the reg to only push out y pressure, and since x>y until x drops, no gas will pass.. hopefully that sorts you out

OK, first things first, I cannot see a Non return valve fitted so be carefull bleeding any pressure off at the regulator end as you will get beer into the reg and then you will be up for a new one. Wise advice to get one in your kit. $27 is far cheaper than $100+ for a new reg (LINKY)

1. Disconnect your keg and turn off the gas
2. Burp the keg
3. In the ballock connection there is a nipple, give it a push to expel any gas in the line
4. turn on the gas and reattach your gas line to the keg and adjust your pressure for pouring.

I use this method just to ensure that no beer will get into the regulator, and still use it even with the Non return Valves.
