Today I put down my last home brew, for now.

I'm heading to Germany to learn serious brewing.

In six weeks, I start a course at VLB in Berlin.

BRAGGER!!!!

Good luck with the course...

So, what was the brew and the recipe?????

K&K? :D

How long in the course?

Is this An Australian First?

I hope your German is good, I sure it will improve. There are two interesting bars in Berlin worth a drink or three at. One I can't remember the name of one but it is under the railway track in West Berlin inside the arches. There is several 'student' (read tight arse) bars there. The other is on the river in the west called the beach. It is open in the summer and has deckchair in a big (1/4 acre) sandpit. :p

Enjoy the trip. I can't see why you can't post your adventures.

Thanks, guys.

I will be posting from Berlin (and keeping you updated on Zwickel's beers :chug: )

This has been a long time dream of mine and I couldn't believe I actually got a place in the course (still can't)

My last HB is an IPA made from the last remaining ingredients in my inventory, using (naturally) Hallertau hops.

Congratulations you complete and utter...

Tease us by telling us all about Dsseldorf Altstadt and just as were Mashpaddling our Klsch's you can post from Kln...

(Can we get some easy umlauts on this site sometime?)
:(

Well done son. Enjoy.
:chug:

Good work WhistlingJack! I've just skimmed through the VLB's website...which course is it you've enrolled in? The 5 month version? Now, that seems like a nice way to spend the winter...

Make sure you get to Oranienburger Strasse for some bar crawls. I was there a few years back and one bar had a fire-breathing dragon made from stainless steel over the bar...strange.

And enjoy the run on the #100 bus too mate. Simply the cheapest tour of the city you'll get.

Dave.
