Gday, the SS brewery should be ready to go late this week and i have got a munich helles style lager planned to keep the first one simple(ish). How does this sound?

90% weyermann pils
4% caramalt
4% acid malt
2% melanoiden

about 10EBC and OG 1.049 @75%

22IBU and ~1g/L crystal at 15 and flame out (90g total in 23L brew)

white labs 8033

Cheers, Ash

Looks good.
I maybe would use carapils for colour sake rather than caramalt.

I would drop the caramalt, the melanoidal malt will give you enough maltiness, the caramalt would take it over the top.
Hope the Christening goes well.

Cheers
Andrew

I love Helles, good one.

I agree with barry and andrew

From Horst Dornbusch Bavarian Helles, definately drop the caramalt and the melanoidin may be pushing it. Horst recomends to use up to about 15% carapils with a protien rest at 50 to get the full malty helles mouthfeel, but with weyermann you probably dont need much if any carapils.

It should be a hit
