just tried one at the Wheatie.
Whoa!

I've got to try another before I get too carried away... but damn, that's a brewery not afraid of hops :D

Must be all that dodgy water in Adelaide or the West End draught.

I have tried them from te bottle and the tap at Moorilla and wasn't overly impressed. Prefer my HB actually, especially at their price.

BTW, Moobrew is a micro based at a winery just north of Hobart

I admit, our local brews are a bit suss compared with yours (apart from Coopers). I read the Tassie blurb on the bottle. It was a Tas wine fan that told me about it. But yeah, i like it!

I came across Moo Brew quite by accident last time I was in Tassie... (Was looking for stuff I'd never tried b4 in the local bottle shop)

Tried the Wheat beer. Liked it.
Even kept the yeast dregs in case I wanted to make some. (Anyone know if it's viable?)

Didn't think it was particularly hoppy tho.....

Will be looking for some more when I go back for Xmas. :D
(Drinking lots makes the family far more bearable...)

Hi all,

Had a couple of the Pils on tap in Launceston. A very passable example of the style, not overly hoppy, a slight caramel note.

Will agree with Tangent. Had a couple of these a few months ago. Had the Pale Ales. And they were quite hoppy I thought. I actually enjoyed these.

Cheers

i should have mentioned, i tried the pale ale. Hoppy!

would love to try the wheat.

Yep they are quite nice beers, and usually my choice when the option is available.

They have four beers out at the moment:

Pilsner, Hefeweizen, Pale Ale and Dark Ale

The dark ale is basically a dark version of their Pale, ie. prominant cascade hops but with some subtle dark malts. The colour is there but shut your eyes and it would be hard to pick it although I have never tasted them side by side.

Nice to get some fresh options anyway.

Cheers, Justin

I tried the pils, pale ale and wheat a bit back when justin kindly sent up some for me :)

thanks mate :super:

My fav was the pils...... a very nice beer. The PA was nice too, plenty od hops, but i didnt quite go on the wheat...... it was a nice beer but tasted a bit stale.

Maybe it didnt like the trip up is all.

Would love to try it fresh from the tap at the brewery.

And the bottles!!!! awsome.

all in all a fine tasting session was had :)

cheers

just got back from a project in hobart and tried this while i was there. i tried the pils and the pale ale, once i got onto the pale ale, i didn;t get off it - absolutely awesome. love the hoppy aroma, this is what LCPA should be.

anyway now i'm going to try and find a way to get this in WA....
