We are in the process of upgrading the software to better handle the shipping of full and empty cylinders and until we get this software upgrades finished it's just easier if we use other carriers for the larger consignments in particular. Aus Post is fantastic for small consignments under 8kg to private households but there are better value options for heavy/bulky items. At the moment you can purchase the full cyilnders for a bargain price of $73 as you have pointed out but when the order comes through our system we will process this through one of the best carriers we have for the consignment. It's an area we are making changes to at the moment to make our processes and freight cost more efficient.

Yesterday, I could have sworn the description said the bottles came ‘ready to fill’

Now it says they come full ?

I was confused because my 6kg one did come full and assumed there must have been a change somewhere

So both the 2.6 & 6kg cylinders come full? Just to clarify

Looks like they have changed the wording, seemed really strange to be selling empty bottles. They must be busy filling them as we speak.:)

As you can imagine we have paid quite a lot for tooling cost & R&D. When we first launched this product we did say that we were selling at close to our cost price and we would increase the price which is what we have done. It's simply not sustainable for us to have large tooling and R&D costs without having some way to pay for these costs. We would like to continue to be able to come out with many other new products in the future but part of that is making sure we charge a price that we can absorb these speculative product development costs.

It's not normal for someone like ourselves to publish a list of potential competitors but we strongly feel that our product is so competitive we openly feel happy to talk about the competitors products and their price.

    Aliexpress:
Prior to us making the Cannular canning machine this was pretty much the cheapest place to get a canning machine. The service and support is obviously limited and your options would be something like this:
This product was not a great design. It was cumbersome, heavy and from the units that we purchased and tested they were simply electrically not compliant. These cost about USD$450 plust shipping. So the landed cost in Australia once you pay for shipping might be something like AUD$900.

Then you have machines like this. The Oktober can seamer is a great unit. Well designed and by all means it's got a good reputation. Had of we purchased and re-sold these we would have had to sell these for AUD$1300 and this is for the cheapest one that have which I think is the SL1 Model.

Then the other popular model that is from America is called the All American and it looks like this below. This model is hand operated which is a bit annoying and the hand operated model if we sold it would cost about AUD$1500 if we sold this in Australia. If you went with the motorised option we would probably have to sell these for over AUD$2000.

So given the price of the competition i would say our price of AUD$499 is actually the bargain of the century. The lucky customers who got one of the first two shipments got a cheaper price but the AUD$499 is still an absolute deal and many other companies in our position would probably charge close to the cost of the competition or slightly less.

No matter what we sell we will always get customers who think the price should be cheaper. With that said we pride ourselves on offering extremely good value on our whole range of goods. If however this is not the case we open the forum to areas where you think we can improve.

FYI I went to get a takeaway Crowler from an establishment that's less than a month old, and their Oktober seamer is already broken.

I've run about 20 cans through the Cannular and have zero complaints so far. Doing a big run this weekend so can provide some feedback after that. We've mounted a bottle filler on a frame that makes filling and purging and breeze.

I'll do a video of it over the weekend. Nothing fancy, just a basic frame made from leftover decking.

I put a post up a couple of weeks ago when my neighbour who works for Australia Post told me they had been caught a few times sending undeclared dangerous goods through the post to save a few bob. One of their excuses was they were sending empty bottles, probably where that came from, union got involved and now they are on their final warning.

I am not sure where you are getting your information but we have not heard union or saving a few bob or this final warning?

Malt and barley blues, with all due respect I can only assume this information is coming from a competitor which would not be unusual. At the end of the day our competitors can continue to complain and whine about how we are taking all their business but the reality is we are dedicated to producing awesome gear and providing our customers better value and innovative products. If our competitors focused on the same thing they would be a lot better off rather than making accusations.

At the end of the day I think customers see through all this and they just want to get better gear, good service and good value products.

It's not like the disposable o2 I got off ebay (not from kegland) that had hazard labeling on the bottle but nothing declared on the con note. that's probably crossing a line.

Something obviously happened, why else the bizarre wording that you were selling empty cylinders?
Or are you going to say that the wording was never there, since you changed it within hours of my post going up. Another point is why suddenly put a statement under the cylinders that the cylinders cannot be sent by Aus Post?
I know who I believe, my avatar may look like a numpty but I can assure you I am not.

Maybe because it was never an option to have them sent through Aus Post, and because of whingers like you, they felt that they had to explicitly state it on the item?

If you took the time to read the posts that is the way they have sent them in the past, through Australia Post.

Fair call, and fully understood, just pointing out that a 25% price increase is a lot in one hit.

What happened to the flow control ball lock disconnects that were due in on the 26 April? Now 10 may?

Sorry about that. They just missed the last container so they got bumped and shifted to the next container of these stainless fittings.

Hey @KegLand-com-au, I've just built a keg fridge and am transitioning away from bottling. I notice your great growlers online, but any chance of getting 1L squealers? 2L's is a fair bit of brew for a friend to chug down in a day or two...

    (source: http://petitionperth.com/growlers-squealers/)

I would hope there would be a market for them, especially if UNinsulated ones were say $15 and insulated were also $20. I found this group in Perth that look strikingly similar to yours, so maybe a common supplier with your current ones could make it easy.
If you do look into it and want to just do a once off - I'll put my hand up for 10!
