Celebrate James Squire's arrival to Australia.
Dear Beer Enthusiasts,

Please note the Malt Shovel Brewery will be closed on Monday 26th January to celebrate the arrival on the first fleet of James Squire.

Who would have thought, 217 years later, that so many people would be raising their glasses to one of our convicts, a man who went from highway robber to one of the wealthiest men in the colony. And of course, not only the first, but by far best brewer of his time. This Australia day, the best brewers of our time will be knocking back a few in James Squire's honour in both Sydney and Melbourne.

If you're in Sydney, pop on down to the James Squire Brewhouse and Restaurant at King Street Wharf. Chef is serving up a great Aussie BBQ on Friday and Monday. Rock legend Kevin Borich is playing Friday night and on Australia day there is live colonial music all afternoon topped off with the Darling Harbour fire works in the evening.

Or if in Melbourne, get down to the James Squire Brewhouse at the corner of Little Collins and Russell St to celebrate Australia Day. Try something from the great menu or on Monday be first to sample the new Aussie Pie and pint deal that is going to become a regular Monday feature.

Cheers and best wishes,
From the brewers of James Squire.
