I'm hoping to get at least 10 people who are interested in a Stainless Steel 400 micron mesh basket similar to the one
in the photos but bigger . This basket will be 29.0 cm diameter and 38.0 cm high plus 2cm legs.
So taller than the one in the photo and able to fit 30 L or 40 L crown urns with concealed element.
It would fit in many other electric urns but ones with exposed elements would need the legs extended.
So the volume of the basket would be 25 L and able to take around 6 kg of grain ( I think 6.7 kg of
grain would be the max to fit in ). So easily make 30 L of wort. Being a narrow tall basket there is less
stress on the basket and these type of baskets can be made much bigger as in the US.
With a batch of 10 or more the price can be kept down and I was looking to sell them for
$ 115.00 plus postage or pickup for locals on the south coast. Postage for most people
would be $25.00. I kept the height of the basket to 40.0 cm so postage would be reasonable.
So if you already have an urn and It's not worth buying a robobrew or similar here is the answer.
Some in the US believe only the bottom of the basket should be perforated , this can be achieved
by aluminium foil wrapped over the top and around.
The old basket was smaller and more expensive but with numbers I can bring this down for this
new bigger Stainless Steel basket . I use the old one at home on a regular basis for yeast starters,
oats, sea weed and other things I put in my beers.
Please message me if interested.
