I'm sooo pleased. I hit my mash T spot on. I got 79% efficiency with my new thermometer and there's a nice surfactancty foam on the top (or there was before I started heating it) so I can see that its all gonna be alright body-wise. :)

I used a different method for the mash water. I heated it up to the T beersmith uses taking the equipment into account and left it for 2 hours. Came back and it had dropped to 60C. Then I heated about half of it to ~90C and dumped that in, giving the T beersmith says without taking into account the equipment and dumped in the grain and voila!
I thought that was kind of clever of me. :)
