Reassembing a barbie and having real trouble with a fitting. Looks like a standard SAE thread, but no amount of abuse will cause it to engage. On close inspection it looks like it's been cross threaded - there's a fine groove in the peak of the female thread. There's a label in the base which says "wehn moving or filling, disconnect the regulator from the bottle, do not disconnect hose from appliance". Arse.
Is there a special tool which is supposed to jam them together, or is the thread just jiggered? Can we just replace the hose?
