Well after a long time procrastinating about it I have finally got the first AG in the bag and man I am chuffed with it. Massive thanks to Pistol Patch for the Batch Sparging notes he put together and emailed me, Massive thanks to Ross who helped me set up beer smith and had a look at the recipe for me to help me tweak it and of course for the Hops , and a Massive thanks to Brauluver for telling me a few times top stop worrying about how hard you think it is and just do the dam brew(in the nicest possible way of course), Of course a Massive thanks to everyone here at AHB this is a really good place to learn everything HB, it is pretty good to be able to speak to people all over AUS and further to get help when needed.
I have chucked in the recipe below to show You guys what I made . I went for Fuggles all the way through just so i know how they work in a beer and also as a starting point to tweak here and there
Cant wait to taste it I think it will be MASSIVE  :super:

Congrats arsenewenger :beerbang: heres hoping your first AG brew went a lot smoother than mine! Looks like you got a nice malty ale ale there, the scottish yeast wont hide the hop flavours your after either. Should be nice.

I've got my 2nd Ag brew coming up in a week or so, it should go smoothly now i've elimiated the causes of all my stuff ups the first time round. Live and learn! :)

All the best man

I reckon this board is spawning an all grain revolution that just keeps gaining speed. kinda like a bit of space junk caught in the earths orbit. or something B)

Well it not normal that i get the lid on tight enough to get a seal for the airlock to bubble away good and proper even though it does not really matter , but this baby is well and truly away and it is a great sound to hear while trying to settle the wee fella in the middle of the night

Viva Le revolution

AW :D

Top news AW! Glad to hear you had 2 of the most helpful troops on AHB looking after you - Ross (my notes were just his words written down)and Brauluver. I would have given up brewing AGAIN without people like them.

Your gear all looks great too. Are you bottling or kegging? And, when's the taste test?

All the best to you,
Pat

Congrats! I want to get start on AG before the year is out but i have to get my LASIK surgery paid off before i start spending excessive amounts on equipment again. taking forever on a students measily income

once you use grain you never use goop in a can again :)
