G'day,

In preparation for brewing tomorrow I thought I'd boil up some water and whack it in a cube ready to go into the fermenter.

One pot that I used has only ever been used for pasta and the water boiled in it was nice and pure, however the other pot has been used for countless pasta sauces and the like and when I transferred the water from the pot to the cube there was the tiniest (and i mean really tiny) oily smear across the top of the water.

Will this have an effect on the brew itself? I'm doing a 11.5L volume so there's a chance not all the water in the cube will be used. I tasted the water once cool and there's no discernible flavour.

Cheers.

Mate, sorry to say but I think you have blown a head gasket...

U didn't clean it properly. No real issues. And if ur really keen u could read the threads on where it's profferred that olive oil can be used I miniscule amounts instead I'd aeration.
