A heads up everyone.

Everything is all but finalised. So much so I am ready to post on the Bulk Buy section with final costs and conditions.

All involved should be ready to jump. I will organise the round of orders to be posted there. People will have three days to organise payment, then the list goes wide open and then its first in best dressed

Costs are still looking great, still looking arround $10.00 a kilo plus your postage method.

Ok, Plenty have put up their hand to help so I am after some.

I am after some-one to mange the current list and keep it updated on the Bulk Buy Forum when it opens.

The list(s) will show who has been offered a buy, who has acknowledged, and who has paid (with appropriate privacy if people want it. The list will also keep a running tally. I will advise you of all entries, your job is simply maintain that list on the forum.

Who is up for it. e-mail me if your good with spread sheets and can set this up.

One last thing, if for whatever reason the hops have to be distroyed by AQIS, then that will cost $150.00. Unlikely, BUT I am covering all bases. Toying with
1. $1.00 a kilo surcharge (to cover that) that you get back when the hops are sent out
2. trust you all to chip in if the worst case happens.

I always like to cover to worst case.

tv are you going to pm everyone individually with your BSB and account details? I've got spare time today and tomorrow and I'm quite prepared to do an initial send-out of your ac no to blocks of 30 poeple at a time on your 'approved' list to save you the chore. Or would you prefer to have your spreadsheet man do that for you to keep it more tightly coordinated?

There is the danger that if you post your details publicly people not on the list could deposit money and present you with a fait accompli and send me da hops brother, probably unlikely but you never know.

Sorry to put spanner in works but with previous BBs the AHB messaging system can be a PITA and you can end up with overflowing mailboxes, flood control enabled for 2 minutes etc, would you prefer to reveal your email addy along with your bank details and get members to communicate via email (and rigorously put their AHB name in the msg title every time? Edit: sorry see you have put up your addy, but comments about usernames still stand so Graham and spreadsheet man knows who you are.

Also could everybody on the list, double check to make sure you have your username spot on re capital letters etc or the carbon copy feature of the messaging might not work.

I will only mail out my account details to those interested. Yes Bulk Buys are a pain at times, hence
1. only one contact person - me
2. I am farming out the other tasks (still after a spreadsheet/list person).

Its the little jobs like these that makes a lot easier. As you say, dealing with the masses takes diplomancy and a degree of argorance, both i have in abundance

This is the list we will be using at the start of the bulk buy, (with a couple of secret squirels to add yet)

We will then work our way thru this adding extras at the bottom at demand dictates

Ok we have had our first clitch

so far
1. ordering hops - no problem
2. buying hops - no problem
3. shipping to Australia - no problem
4. getting importers licence - no problem
5. Collection from wharf to house - a little help
6. distributing hops - a little help

Yes its getting the hops from the wharf, into Bond Store and out. Currently a the company selected has suddenly gotten rather expensive and I mean quite expensive, as they want to handle the whole process, and charge $5.00 a kilo for the effort.

Bugger that, so i am on the hunt for a shipping agent that will simply
1. collect hops at the wharf
2. get the govt clearances
3. allow collection.

Ok what I need

1.One or two Brissy people able to collect the hops when they arrive

2. Brissy people keen to help pack, and make a beer day out of it with a beer swap etc (hey a little party ). If we get 5 to 10 people I'll up the order over 200kg.

I know it sucks. I was going to start a fresh new list BUT everyone seemed keen to keep the old list. I am going with concensus here.

BUT dont sweat it, if Brissy brewers get their act together, there will hops for everyone.
