I think one has to be highly supicious of the quality of a nearly ending resource which is DROPPING in price... Also seem to remember Matt stating this bargin is just for Australian customers - Pretty hard for us to make returns...

But until quality drops below a servicable standard, they still appear to be good value, in this country at least!!!

mchitiea,

If I order any more kegs, will these kegs be true to your Item description?:-

"These ARE NOT "seconds" or "junkers". "
"NO to MINOR Dents or Dings."
"If ordering more than one we will match mfg and type sent (OUR CHOICE)."

Regards,
Phil

I think is down or something I just order 3 kegs and some bits and all it came up with was $160 postage so I just sent it thru like that with a note to add it to it at the cheapest rate

I placed an order for 4 kegs last week and will post on their condition when they arrive.

Mat,
Looked back at the thread from the beginning. Seems only now that the kegs are lower condition than before. Maybe Pepsi did not save the crappy ones to last, but I bet you have sold the crappy ones last. Pepsi just mixed a couple of crap ones into each of your batches, now you have a few remaining at less than good condition. Over the years I have had a supplier of second hand kegs in Aust. He too buys in bulk. Now he is at the end of the supply and the ones remaining I wouldn't touch with a 40 metre pole.
I suggest that the ones you have remaining would have ruined your reputation if you sent them out first. Buyers beware, I have seen the kegs that remain after all the good ones are sold.
I bet you even have some with "double" relief valves and the "bails" on the lid dont touch the top of the keg when closed (ie no seal except if the keg is highly gassed)
I am only posting this because you maintain they are in excellent condition.
The last couple of posters suggest otherwise.

cheers
Darren

OK, I'M PUTTING A STOP TO THIS NOW!
You sir, don't know beans of what we have and don't have. Round trip ticket to SFO is now only $700. COME ON OVER AND SEE WHAT WE HAVE BEFORE YOU START WRITING ABOUT WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT. -COME ON OVER AND LET PEPSI TELL YOU THEIR POLICIES. -Yep, as a large Corporation I am sure, by YOUR expertise, that they would decide to keep and use the crappy kegs for last. Oh, and of course, WE have plenty of room to store all those "bad kegs" for all these years (since 1996)...at about 60,000 kegs per year going through here!
-Granted, the last couple of boxes sent out were packaged by one of newer workers in my absence, BUT.......the 30 or so other orders....apart from -THE TWO- posters that received "less than standard kegs" are quite happy it seems!
-I HIGHLY RECCOMEND that you write only about what you know about and leave your assumptions in your head; that's where they belong.
-I am sure as more buyers recieve their kegs, they too will be quite happy with their purchase, for, as stated, the kegs we are sending out now are the same great used quality as they have always been.
-Now....just as we had a similar BrewHAHA about wether the kegs were even shipped or not (go back to the FB and see where we started to email the U.S. Customs Forms), and how we had to bear the brunt of a lot of verbal bull-pucky for the length of time that it took for the kegs to arrive and the buyers posted that they did indeed recieve the kegs...we will now, undoubtably, have to put up with a lot of BS like what you just posted. Thank you for adding your wealth of knowledge and expertise to this thread....you are truly "the expert".

-OH...and did you speak with the other poster ( Fingerlickin_B) about how we are sending a replacement keg AND EXTRA GOODIES for free, (for the keg that is leaking from the weld) including shipping? We have ALWAYS done this, AM doing it and WILL CONTINUE to do this to keep our customers satisfied! But for you, I bet that isn't called "taking care of the customer".
-Is this a flame...YOU BET......WHY? Because you don't know a darn thing of market conditions or what we have/don't have OR our Beliefs to customer service and our Trust in our product! When you write "assumptions" like you did, it comes back to you.
-Now...Good Day "Sir".

PS:
-Pricing reduction: We are "blowing out" another keg seller: That's called "Crushing the Competition!"
-Availablility of kegs: I spoke with Pepsi this week and they may be releasing another 4,000 kegs instead of sending them overseas. We will know more later.
-"Double relief valves"....Heck, the platic "Dome Top" valves are MORE RELIABLE then the "pull ring" type! RE: Valves that have a plastic flip knob (release on center, close on either side) THOSE ARE THE SAME AS PULL RING VALVES! The only difference is one has a pull ring the other has a plastic "flipper knob"! But...of course...you knew this, didn't you?

PSS:
RE: Terry at BD....It is true as posted here on the Aussie Forum...he does not respond to email very well, he never has. He is not a "computer guy". BUT, as the man in charge of our small Parts, the customer HAS ALWAYS RECEIVED WHAT THEY ORDERED, and in the rare event they did not, orders were completed via 1st class mail and received by the customer in a few days.
RE: Shipping quote error on our BD website; There is a RECURRING code error that returns false shipping quotes. Just enter your items and nothing in the shipping section and Terry ALWAYS applies the correct shipping rate for the weight and location of the goods ordered. If you want to see what your shipping of kegs will be, look at the ebay site shipping links.

Matt,
I have been very happy with the 8 kegs I have ordered from ebay.

Luke

Even if you have to give them a scrub and replace the seals, for the price its still a bargin. Otherwise spend the extra and get the "newer ones"

Does anyone know if there is any additional charges on the kegs such as customs or import taxes. Thanks .

My box of 4 kegs were stopped at customs...

They didn't charge me any import duty!

Just ordered 4 mroe kegs and bits and pieces from BD.

Time to get a bit of positivity back into this thread...

Whenever I've emailed Terry he has always responded within a day or two at the most and has been very helpful and patient with questions that he probably answers dozens of times a day.

As far as the shipping costs on BD goes, I confirm with him before finalising the order and include the shipping cost quoted in the comments section. Never had a problem doing it this way and puts my mind at ease.

Keep it up guys.
Steve

Myself and MO'Brien have ordered 13 kegs from BD over the past few months as well as a few hundred dollars worth of other parts. I'll let Matt O add his comments, but in the most part the kegs have been just what we've been expecting. One shipment had a 3Gal keg that did not seal properly. Terry sent a replacement keg no charge, no questions asked, and did not require a return. For a US seller to do this is damn good service in my books. Try talking to some of the other US keg suppliers - they don't even ship to Australia because of all the hassles. As Matt C says, Terry isn't the best with the email, but the goods do turn up.

As it stands, both MO'Brien and myself have managed to set up good keg systems with mutliple 5G and 3G kegs, manifolds, etc. From my perspective, if I'd paid Oz prices for the gear, it would have cost me at least 3 times as much.

As a few other posters have said, if you want to see what condition kegs are in before you buy them, go down to your local HBS and pay the $80-100 they are asking.

Matt C, we will be putting another order in soon for kegs and bits to Terry.

Cheers, Alan.

Woah, calm down!!

It seems that you came here after someone posted in the feedback that people in AHB have expressed concerns about your product.

I would like to add a third to your list of 2; someone who put positive but said one keg didn't hold pressure- that doesn't cut it in my book.

But seriously, calm down! You're coming across as being incredibly angry! It seems that ebay is the only place where angry people can consider themselves to be professionals. You should expect conjecture, and deal with it in a mature, professional way. I work in customer assistance and get stupid questions all the time. However, I understand it is my job to not turn around and call them an idiot.

Merely yelling at your customers doesn't do much for customer relations. take it as a tip from someone who deals with people in person.

Als_world has about summed it up with our experiences from BD - we have got good kegs, and those that have been faulty have been sorted out - thats good service in my books. The lack of emails and communication was a bit of a worry, but Terry came through when he could have easily just ignored us.

I wasn't game to go the $14 keg route - we bought the reconditioned models, and I got what I expected. Some small dents, but I have kegs and don't have to wash bottles!

We'll be ordering from BD again

Matt

I didn't think anyone was questioning the quality of the BD kegs - It's the C&C ones isn't it that have had the problems?

Ross,

According to Matt C, they are the same:

-Keep in mind that C&C and BD are the same. Terry handles the small parts, etc. I handle bulk and Pepsi Vending equipment. The kegs are all the same.

Both myself & Fingerlickin_B had "issues" with the kegs ordered off ebay from C&C.

These appear to be the ones that a new employee packaged & sent off to us, this is where the problem was. We weren't questioning the integrity of BD as per Ross's reply.

From my perspective a personal email or PM as to the reason why I received the dented/perished kegs would have been nice.

Agreed that these prices are excellent & would be hard pressed to find an equivalent. When I order some more, I hope to deal with Matt directly.

-Your may be correct. I know that I do not handle ******** very well.
-I put "the hammer down" QUICKLY" because 1). I did not want to endure another round of 8 to 12 weeks of BS until our latest batches started to arrive and, 2). The poster stated that -HE ABSOLUTELY KNEW- what we were doing! PoppyCock! When someone knows nothing, and says everything, then that is called "B***S**T"! (see line #1 of this response). In fact, he/she wrote in such a manner as to make me suspect he/she was trying to "kill sales". Remember, "It's a dog eat dog world out there, and sometimes I think people are chewing my dog-bone shorts!" (American slang for: "Chewing my ass"...HAHAHAHAHA)
-Really, I am a nice guy.....BUT...i have NO Patience nor Sympathy nor Empathy for aperatures of the rectum! Thanks, Matt BREW-ON!

:D Sorry, but I can't help it - every time I read one of Matts rants, I just imagine it's coming from the mouth of John Cleese :D
