PoMo, The braided hose is not so much for high temp or looks, but more for pressure resiliency.

Fixa or maybe Domonsura might be able to give us an idea about how well a regular LP BBQ hose will fair at the HP levels.

And Fixa, these regs are definitely full-range adjustable, right mate?

A number of years ago I was at a brew day at Chiller's. He was using a NASA with a normal LP BBQ hose. We were all sitting around having a few beers while the wort boiled, when all of a suddent the hose blew off at the burner end. It made a nice loud bang and scattered local brewers in all directions (I think safety officer Darren was sitting right next to it at the time and he got quite a fright). The hose whipped about wildly until Chiller had run over to turn it off at the bottle. Luckily for all the flame blew out when the hose came loose.

Not surprisingly all Adelaide brewers I know either use a rigid copper fitting or a braided hose.

oh and 1 meter is prob not enuff, i reckon 2 meters if we can. You can always tie or shorten if need be but you can never add on. I try and keep my gas bottle as far away as possible.

I'm pretty sure they are 1/4 bsp.

The braided hose i got from BBq's galore for around $15. 1/4 bsp and 3/8 bsp (for the nasa) i'm pretty sure.
