Probably a good triple coat of estapol varnish would do the trick, or just cover it with a sheet of good old vinyl flooring.

1/4" for a veneer!!!! Are you American?
I'll say just elderly like myself. We did use those measurements.......young whipper snappers! :p

That's not a veneer, that's armour!

Yeah that's the point I was getting at, American seem to make the same stuff as everyone else just twice as big...!

6mm steel plating certainly would reduce the whole foldable/portable aspect.

possibly a bit OT considering this is a home brew forum... :chug:
Yet an "Aldi special" as the thread title suggests.

Not a scotch drinker though, so I haven't seen it.

Also, while you can't discuss making spirits, there's plenty of threads on what whiskeys are good to drink, making cheese, sauerkraut, smallgoods, bread, pizza etc. These are normally in the forums specifically for non beer related things but pointing out a good scotch or whiskey in the aldi special thread seems quite ok

Coming up Saturday 11 June, from the print catalogue. Could be handy for running ice water through a chiller:

Silicone Repair Tape. $5.99

On sale Sat. 11 June.

Silicone repair tape.jpg Silicone repair tape2.jpg
■ Self-adhering tape which forms a permanent, waterproof and airtight seal

■ Ideal for seal and repair plumbing, vents, ducts and hoses, tool handles, cable wraps, radiator hoses, sports grips and more

■ Available in a variety of colours

Possible brewery uses include:

- repairing/replacing damaged plastic coating on ball valve handles

- providing a cool grip on camlocks

Like the idea of cool grip on camlocks!!! Hopefully it's quite thin and able to be formed around the odd shape without having parts lifted which will collect sticky wort and be filthy after a couple of brew days! Worth a crack I reckon!

10.5L stockpots are back again for around $22.
Good thick base, riveted handles and glass lid.
If you only buy one stockpot in your career this is the one.
