    Lovely Valley Brewery

Quite possibly the worst mixed 6 pack of beers I've ever had. 3 were infected with a medicinal flava that was overpowering and the other 3 were just plain shit. A close second would be the beers made by the hold fast pub on site.An overt soapy yeast bite that masks the malt flava beneath.

    Choosing A House Ale Strain

Seriously, give the nottingham a trial.Attenuates well, floccs well. The APA I put into sabsosa this year was made with nottingham and it got 40/50. Nice in a stout also ,so it would suit a brown beer,(doesn't batz use it in his alts?) 1968 is my fave liquid strain, but its prolly a little...

    Favourite And Cheapest Bottle Shops

That estrella stuff is out of balance to my palate, too thin and lacking malt character for its bitterness. And thats just from a pissy little taster in a bottlo. DAB is a nicer example of a lager and better value for $$$ in my HO.

    Dr Tim's Yeast,anyone Used It.

Doing a bit of googling around for info on Dr Tim's ale and found a press release with some interesting info HERE scroll down to the second article. I'd always assumed it was just a filtered ale that was seeded with a lager strain like LCPA is. but this excerpt surprised me, " "Coopers have...

Unwanted Candy Flavours In My Lagers

Yep Tangents on the money. Extract. It will never attenuate down low enough ,no matter what yeast or how much aearation. The manufacturing process sees it mashed at higher temps than an AG lager maker would use. Never had an extract lager pilsener yet that was crisp and clean Learn to like the...

    K-97 In A Cpa

My experience is that it comes on fruity early and then fades to a dry crisp finish that strips a lot of the malt backbone away.Great for a pseudo lager made with lager/pils malt maybe. Only thing wheaty about it is the esters in primary. I once did a 3kg esb wheat with this yeast and found it...

Help With A Partial Recipe For Schofferhofer Please

as an alternative you could just do an 11 litre half size AG brew for kicks. If you can mash 2.5 kg and boil the resultant wort all you need to do is take one of those simple AG recipes and halve it. Keep it simple with a single step mash of 66/67c at a 3 litre perkg ratio. ferment with wy 3068...
