Any opinions on the possible success rate of putting growth media (boiled only) directly into new sterile test tubes for slanting as opposed to using the pressure cooker and sterilizing both?

For the sake of 30 minutes in a pressure cooker & the peace of mind it gives, I wouldn't be trusting the "sterile" label.

From my days jumping out of aircraft: The best check you do is the one you do yourself....

I'm just starting out with the test tubes, and from the reading I've done, it would seem to be OK to just do a chemical sterilization rather than one through a pressure cooker... e.g. put your tubes in starsan

I did all my tubes a while back and then filled them up with boiled water. They live in the fridge until I need them.
