What do the numbers mean?

They indicate whats in the plastic and the plastic type if I'm not mistaken, a quick google should lead you to a key of some type

i believe we use HDPE (2) for our plastic fermenters
PETE (1) i think is used in the 'better bottle' fermenters and has less ability to hold onto smells, let O2 through, etc.
