which hop plant/s should i try to grow ??

i'm after some help, which hop do you think i should try and grow this far north. why, because why not try and see how it goes. :lol:

so based on that, which hop would pick to grow in your own garden? i'm not fussed by which style, however i do seem to make more ales then lagers (but that will hopefully change soon).

I enjoy English ales, so I would go for the Goldings. In fact, I've ordered a Goldings rhizome.

Might be worth giving POR a shot first... not the most exciting choice perhaps, but I have grown my POR in Brisbane for 3 years now, and in that time I have killed a couple of other varieties which were perhaps less able to tolerate the warmer weather.

thanks for the input, might be the go. shall try good 'ol POR, i've got an ale that uses that and its a tasty drop indeed.
