Lentils are great - they just need a big juicy duck breast on top.

Or a spicy french sausage.
There's a dish, I think it's called Lyon Sausage or something similar, which is green lentils and garlicy sausage.
My grandmother used to make it but I had no idea what it was called.

When I was in Belgium I read the description of a dish on the menu, thought it sounded nice and ordered it, and then had to laugh when it came out because it was exactly the dish she used to cook.

Here we go, apparently its done with many types of sausage, not just Lyon, and this hearty dish is a classic main course in the Auvergne region of France. Encylopedia Google to the resuce again...
