Just picked up two bridge roads IPA gift packs with the spiegelau glass at woollies for ten bucks each

Thats the ex Christmas stock. I got some last week too. The IPA has lost a lot of its character but I guess on the bright side you get a excellent quality glass. I heard they got down to $7 last year.

I guess ill find out tonight what the beers like, but still happy with the fact I've two more IPA glasses

Just cracked my first ipa and I concur its crap! its lost all flavour aroma and has very little bitterness compared to the first pack I bought six months ago

Be warned the beer is way passed its best! but the glass is dead sexy

The IPA is not a great drop at the best of times, certainly not Bridge Roads best.

I disagree that it's not a great drop, it is truly delicious when fresh on tap (as are little bling and bling bling, imho). Any beer that is characterised by prominent late/dry-hop isn't going to fare well over time, which is why you don't cellar them...

For Melbourne-based people Graysonline also have some ex Ernest Hilliers chocolate making equipment up for auction (pickup only in Coburg). Ends in 2 days.

http://www.graysonline.com/sale/3011147/manufacturing/ernest-hillier-chocolate-manufacturing-processing-packaging-surplus-equipment?spr=true

Online auction includes many chocolate tempering vessels etc. which might be suitable for mash tuns for someone up-scaling their brewery. I guess the gentle temperatures need for melting chocolate might be similar to temps required for mashing.

Some of the stuff is 3-phase power.

Eg. this stainless mixing vessel with stirrer.

New 304 stainless steel double-door bar fridge, with chrome removable internal racks and double glazed doors for insulation.

Seems to big enough to fit a fermentor in (possibly two?)

What got my eye was the built-in digital temp control.

For online auction on Graysonline. Four bids so far, currently at $329. Two days to go.

Pick-up only from Dandenong South in Melb.
