Mmm, vacuum stored hops. Might get a bit expensive having one for each hop though :)

Sam

I vacuum seal all my hops once opened in vacuum seal bags with a Sunbeam Vac Sealer.
I bought the machine just to do hops because I was fed up with throwing hops away before I had got to use them.
Long story short, my wife saw the new Vac sealer and immediately thought "bugger the hops I can use that"
She did some searching and found that as an accessory you can buy a container that hooks up to the Vac seal machine with a hose and you can store all kinds of food in the container.
She uses one for biscuits - so they dont go soft and stale.
She uses one for marinating meat - it marinates meat in 1 hour under vacuum as opposed to 24 hours soaking in the fridge.
I have not thrown any hops since I got this jigger, worth its weight in gold.

Cheers

I was perving in Myers kitchen dept. and saw some interesting plastic storage boxes.
They had a gizmo that created a vacuum in the box, a 2l box was about $30.

(hijack over, carry on)
