Hello!

Looking to get back into brewing after a long hiatus. Specifically, looking to start doing a bit of kegging (bottling was the main reason I stopped a few years ago).

Anyway, I've been checking out setups here and getting a feel for what equipment is available and the prices (Usually I'm good at buying first, regretting later, so this is good for me).

Recently I came across these 2.2L (1kg) disposable cylinders from Tesuco + mini regs.

Has anyone had any experience with them?

Total cost of ownership isn't excessive when compared to a 2.6kg KK cylinder + decent regulator. Inital outlay is low, and cylinders can be posted. Also, if I decide to upgrade later on, I won't be trying to sell off a whole bunch of expensive equipment.

Downsides: higher cost long term, (probably) low quality regulator.

Thoughts? Alternatives?

If you don't want to jump into large cost of a cylinder straight up you could look at soda stream bottle and adaptor, that way you have a normal reg for when you upgrade plus can get bottle swaps in heaps of places? Wonder if this type of bottle has same fitting as soda stream and could also maybe be used this way? I still bottle and am happy to do so, got it down to a fine art now but food for thought

bottle is $200 bucks.. regulator $100..

wont take long to overtake that.

Sodastream bottles aren't exactly cheap. In fact, once you factor in cost of equipment + cost of bottle swaps the price is way higher than any other option.

Fair point about the bottles.

Still, no one has tried these?
