Holy ****, hope they come up to Brisbane.
I'd be surprised if Greg comes all this way, and only does 2 pubs in one city. Surely this is costing either the brewery, or Experience It (the distributors) a fair bit of cash, wihch wouldn't be covered by a handfull of kegs at just two pubs.
I'm not in the industry, so have no idea how these things work.

Anyone else got the inside word?

Actually from ExperienceIT website (http://www.birraitaliana.com.au/)

March 2014 - Stone Events for Australia - April

Sailing on the water current is a container full of over 29 different Stone beers destined for 3 lucky venues in Australia that have been selected to host 3 limited and exclusive Tap Take-overs of Stone beers on draught. A first in many ways, The first time Australia has seen so many Stone beers fresh and on draught, the first time close to half these beers have been seen outside of the Stone branded venues, and the first time such an event with Greg has taken place in Oz. While its not the full initial distribution we had planned, it does give Australian drinkers a real taste of Stone beers fresh, rather than the grey market beers they have become used to. With Greg in NZ and Australia on holidays, we have been lucky enough to secure him for 2 days. April 5th will see Melbourne's event kick-off with The Local tap House starting the festivities, and then later that night the Ale House Project will take over with a selection of different beers. Then later in April with date still TBC, the Sail and Anchor will have a huge event starting with an intimate food and beer session followed by a main bar event. Stay tuned for more details.

I thought Greg was recently quoted as stating he was against his beer travelling outside of the country?

Yeah he did, only last month!!!

So is this confined only to Melbourne, no beer making its way up to Sydney?

Alehouse will be my choice too, although they don't have as many taps as Taphouse so I'm guessing they won't have as big a selection.

Just looked at Alehouse Facebook page. It says they will have 14 Stone beers, so I'm happy with that.

They did this in Wellington with Epic and Stone taking over the bar. I couldn't get to Wellington but a ton of his kegs were on. IPA, w00t Stout, the new beers that are under a non Stone label, Ruination, Vertical Epic and a few others. I was jealous as all hell. Go along if you can. He even used the bar as a stage to preach the gospel of craft beer to the bar. Awesome!

PS he is talking about bottles of his beer when he refers to those going to other countries as they are not going on refridgerated ships and if they were the cost would be too much.

Isn't Sierra Nevada imported in refrigerated containers? The rumour is that this was a prerequisite for the importers.

SNPA seems reasonably priced, on par with our local brews.

Just found out they are doing Brisbane but don't know where.

So Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane but no Sydney :(
