We replaced this older Alen Bredley MicroLogix 1000 with a new MicroLogix 1100 that has ethernet capabilities and is expandable.

So this little baby is obsolite.

MMMMMMMM citect on my computer.......... PLC on the rig.......... all i need is a few solanoids to replace the ball valves and a flow meter on the HLT outlet and its semi automated.

one day.......................maybe :)

Citect on the home computer ? I'm sure that's the program I've seen most mine sites using to run their process plants. Sounds like someones gone straight to the end game :super:

i know how to program it too :)

Top score.

I did a very large project for them (Citect) late 2004 (Globally).
Was hoping to score some bits, but the IT team was not quite in touch with the product guys. I almost scored the trip to Freising (where Weinhepstephan is) just out of Munich to upgrade that office, but couldn't quite justify it :(

Doc

aww bbugger.

If you ever need a hand on a job like that doc just PM me :)

cheers

Ok, I'll ask the question - WTF is that thing??

Programmable controller for multi-zone tolerance controlling - ie.. many +/- variables and range setting for temp / flow / speed control etc.

I have an 8 way unit also, which I've just bought the ancilliary bits for (ie.. probes, PSU etc..). Got the software mapping sorted (pretty easy, looks like Visual C++) and am building over the next few weeks. Mines also got an RJ-45 port for PC interface too. Worth about $2k, got mine FOC.

Tony - can't wait to see yours sorted - mine will be doing basic 2-4 zone heating and cooling.

Cheers - Mike

Edit - PLC stands for Progammable Logic Controller, IIRC.

All you need now Tony is an automated kegging system.

Then you wont even need to leave the lounge room.

yeah this wont have any PID control or anything flash.

I dont recon a home brew rig needs it.

I was thinking a citect program linked to the rig so i can enter mash ans sparge volumes, mash times and temps ect and then it does the rest.

turn on the computer, get the HLT heating, and underlet. would need a stirer on th mash ton.

time out to sparge. like i said one day.

Im happy with what ive got for now. The PLC wont rot :)

cheers

Stu i have that.

Its called a trained step son that gets beer for you.

only he wants to sip it on the way back so i get it myself :)

hehe

*******s! Lucky, lucky *******s! I dream of a plc controlled brewery.

whaer do you work in newcastle joel?

are tyhey looking for a sparkie?

The RAAF hasn't had electricians for ages. God forbid that we fix anything ourselves. Gotta call in a contractor these days to change a bloody flouro or change a car battery. I'm not kidding. It's madness.

Looks like you need an Automatic beer drinker as well ...TONY.... :p
I am available...... :chug:
Cheers
PJ

Ok, so if i lie on the lounge you will automaticly apear and puur beer down my throat :)

sounds good.

It wont be automated for a while yet.

let me do a maiden brew with the rig how it is before i go butchering it :)

cheers

Next thing Tony you'll be at work wishing you were at home making beer.....but.....tap tap on the keyboard ...dial up the brewery over the internet from anywhere, press the big "Make Beer" button and away it goes  .

Brew by wire....
