Brewer's Notes

60 minute boil.
Mash for 60 minutes at 68deg. I added half a tin of muntons LME, because I had it in the fridge and I wanted to bring the SG up.

OG=1.057
FG= 1.015

Malt & Fermentables

0.15 kg TF Crystal
0.9 kg Muntons LME - Amber

150 g DCL Yeast S-04 - SafAle English Ale

  • Final Gravity 1.016 (calc)
  • Bitterness 87.3 IBU
  • Efficiency 75%
  • Alcohol 5.72%
  • Colour 107 EBC

Fermentation

  • Primary 7 days
  • Secondary 7 days
  • Conditioning 4 days
 
Add 1.4kg of Weyermann Munich 2 malt and keep bitterness units at no more than half the OG (OG = 1.050 IBU = 25).
 
IBU works out to approx. 60-70, VERY high for a low gravity beer.
